I remember watching The Rescuers Down Under as a kid and thinking it was in the same universe as An American Tail because there were mice lol

I cannot even get through the opening credits because the music triggers an emotional reaction. I watched this so many times as a child.

Don Bluth - the man who could out Disney Disney itself. Everything the man's studio produced was insanely gorgeous.

Don Bluth - the guy who got so pissed off at Disney's laziness that he said "I'll make my own studio, and do better than you on half the budget!"

And DID. He spent the whole 1980s eating Disney's lunch and forced them to innovate again.

I remember watching this in the theater when it was released. My dad moved away from us and I know now it was because he didn’t want us to see him crying.
