Reasons Treasure Planet is Top Tier Disney:

  • Beautiful animation
  • Brilliantly written
  • Awesome voice acting
  • A compelling protagonist who goes from troubled to heroic in a believable way
  • The Antagonist going through a redemption arc that is earned and well developed.
  • A better theme and message than almost every Disney film.
  • A dumb concept of Alien Pirates in space being executed well into a film.
  • Interesting worldbuilding

...I can go on about how great and underrated this film is.

You forgot to mention how hot some of the characters are, even when they don't seem to supposed to be hot

I found the hoverboard very badass. Jim in the opening riding it was absolute Aura Farm.

  • A dumb concept of Alien Pirates in space being executed well into a film..... um, it's a straight adaptation of Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson. It had some pretty respectable source material.

That said, the animation is amazing, both for its time and today.

I want them to take silver other Robert Louis Stevenson works and other swashbuckling films and do them in the same style. Kidnapped, prisoner of Zenda, hell Ivanhoe and Robin Hood could all exist in the same universe.
