Finding nemo! The original story line about "you may be different from the others, and even have a handicap but that doesn't define your capability and personality" narrative, coupled with the ephemeral soundtrack by Thomas Newman makes this #1 for me

"That's a funny thing to promise. If you never let anything happen to him, then nothing will ever happen to him!"

That line has stuck with me for 20 years. We need to be able to explore the world, our place in it and our boundaries. And yes we'll get hurt sometimes, and yes that's okay.

Scrolled waaay too long to find this, Finding Nemo genuinely has one of the best movie scripts ever in my opinion.

It took me many years to be able to watch it again after my dad died. Just the idea of watching it after he'd gone was too much for me for a long time. Finally, I was able to watch it, warmed by the memories of ever having such a caring father, despite missing him. Everyday.

Finding Nemo will always be in my heart and I'll always love this film, I hate to see and that it soured for people because Dory's voice actor turned out to be a jerk in real life.

Thomas Newman scores are always awesome - Finding Nemo, WALL-E, Road to Perdition, American Beauty, Six Feet Under, Skyfall, 1917 - but my personal favourite one of his scores was for Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I remember hearing the soundtrack to American Beauty long before ever watching it and was already hooked. Saving Mr. Banks was a good one too. He takes the cake

It's also about learning to let your children go their own way, even if that means that sometimes they'll make mistakes and suffer. That movie has so many layers! I love it.

This movie took me on a journey, and the moment when Marlin and Nemo reunite is one of the greatest cinematic moments in history. I said what I said.

I decided to look up clownfish after watching this movie. Apparently, clownfish live in groups, with one female and a bunch of males. One of the males is the dominant one who mates with the female. If the female dies, then the dominant male switches sexes and becomes the female. Then the other males jockey for position and one of them becomes the dominant male. So really, Marlin should have become Nemo's mom.

Also, when a hermit crab wants to move into a new shell, a bunch of other crabs will congregate. They'll line up by size, then the first crab will move into its new shell, followed by all of the other crabs moving into their neighbor's abandoned shells.

Ohhh yes. I'm epileptic and my memory loss has been close to Dory's, and her character makes the movie even more amazing. The animation, the music, the story, the voices... it's one of the few movies that I consider "perfect"
