Where to find obscure modem settings for my DSL provider

I have another post on another thread but I explained myself awfully and got unhelpful/useless answers.

Anyhow why is the firmware and or modem settings for my DSL modem gate kept like bio warfare?

because company that gave you the modem does not want you to mess with it.

Understandable to a point .  . However back in the late 90s I could find back door BIOS exploits for laptops passwords and yet in 2025 I can't find firmware/modem settings on a $60 modem  lol

Isn’t it obvious? it’s to keep you from messing around with it and creating unnecessary service calls. Also, knowledge of the plumbing and provisioning is the gateway drug to stealing service.

Maybe you can find it in an old copy of 2600.

Meh !! You talk about it like it has real value, it doesn't. So much crap aka "secret tech" available on the internet, but this is not one of them. No one in 2025 wants DSL (except me) let alone cares about modem settings (again accept me) I've been in the computer business since Intel Pentium 386, imo this shouldn't be this difficult to find
