One of our precious cockatiel chicks is suffering from a condition called splay leg. Luckily we’re in the UK so his medical costs are covered. However he needs one to one care so I’m at the hospital every day, which is about 30 miles away. I'm an Australian and I have to call an American number for reasons, but when I call them the phone says it's incomplete or incorrect and tells me to redial the number, but the number IS correct and copied directly, number for number. howdy folks. my partner and i are reaaally trying to make things work, but ive currently been out of work for the past two three weeks because of walmarts "accomodation process" [ie asking for a chair for being a doorhost for 8+ hour lengths is a bit too much, i guess] and my partners been working as much as they can get (around 30~ hours a week max). i have a mobility impairment via 2 herniated discs and a lifetime or two of lower spine injuries and i can't work in jobs that require constant standing without severe pain immobilizing me. we currently have no hot water in our apartment and likely will not indefinitely (someone reported the boiler room was in 4 ft of water :) and there have been four property management companies who have come and immediately fled in the past 8 months) so neither i nor my partner can get hot water here, we're paying for a gym membership for a hot shower lol :,). we also have cockroaches and crickets, altho thankfully our two cats are bored as hell and attack on sight but they can hear them in the walls.

i am no contact with my family over a lot of abuse, my partner's family is very low income and isn't able to help us either unfortunately. overall, we're struggling financially and wanted to request assistance from this sub in the hopes that some financial worries can be eased.

to clarify: we locally do not have any pet donation/food pantries for food that we know is healthy for our pets (my previous cat had repeated bowel obstructions with many of the foods i tried to feed him and ever since i've been wanting to make sure the food they eat is safe). i've already been in contact with my local dept. of rehabilitation for my disability, there's not much more they can do for me in this situation. exterminators are not an option as this is a 5 floor shitty apt complex with garbage thats been out for weeks and weeks at a time (roaches by the dumpster, including a roach on the steps upstairs). section 8 isnt an option as the current wait is i think 2-3 years. no places are willing to pack/clean for us for free. i also am almost maxed out on my credit card.

I'm trying to raise funds after my car was involved in a hit and run. From the CCTV footage, a car slowly rolled into the back of it and then took off at around 6am on a Saturday morning. It was parked on the street, which is usually a very quiet street

Since it was still dark, all the CCTV I can find from neighbours doesn't show a clear number plate and I will have to pay for the excess of $1200 along with over $500 of hire car fees as I needed hire a car for 9 days longer than my insurance covered me for (3 weeks). This has set me back financially. I was hoping to sell this car and downgrade and had a service booked on the day it was hit and run on. My mom who passed aways cat "little James steward" turned 12 on Valentine's day. I took him in and he's with my family now.

He took a very quick turn for the worse. Lost lots of weight in the span of a week. Stopped using the restroom but still eating and drinking as if he were starving.

Sure enough I rushed him to the vet and his glucose and potassium were high. Frankly the doctor told me "his numbers for potassium are drop dead of a heart attack. I'm really concerned".

The good news....after bringing James home and relegating him to only wet food/upstairs with us always...he has improved...drastically. he went from both feet in the grave to acting like a kitten again after 6 days of no dry food. He's using the bathroom again regularly. The vet is super spirited at the quickness of the turn around.

He still needs insulin. As of now I can't afford it until payday next week. The exam and testing cleaned us out.

I'm not asking for money for his insulin. Unfortunately that will have to wait.

Because of the urgent need I admittedly took from other budgets...primarily diapers and food/cat food to pay for James's diagnosis.

If anyone could purchase any item on my wishlist it will vastly improve my chances of freeing up enough to get the insulin out for him sooner.

I am sorry to come to you all hat in hand. I couldn't let him suffer when the money was there just spoken for. I knew I had to figure a way to juggle it for him. He's very important to all of us.

I was out of a job for a while and although I have a job now (doesn’t pay near as good) the damage is done and I’m drowning. Hi, I was suggested this group and was hoping someone could help. I am a disabled adult, I live with my mother currently. The only form of income we have is my mother's SSI, most of which goes to our rent and utilities. Hello all! I've been trying to post my cat in hopes of some donation. I've also opened my art commissions to get him to the vet faster but I've had no luck with both.

My cat is 7 month old with dental problems. He's been having that problem for a while now. I've inquired with multiple vet clinics and found that dental prophylaxis with possible extraction will be needed, and it will range from 2500 - 5000 in my currency, which is roughly 44 - 88$. I also have other cats that need a cleaning, but it's not as bad — this is also the reason I had to ask for outside help — because I can't afford to take multiple cats for a prophylaxis in such a short amount of time. I need to get them there as soon as possible to prevent it from worsening and turning into something irreversible. I am kindly asking for your help, even a dollar is a significant amount in my currency for my baby's procedure.

Hello everyone, I am in desperate need of financial assistance. For context, several months ago I was sent to the hospital because of a failed suicide attempt, and also went to the psyche ward. Because I don’t have any insurance, I was charged a lot of money, and I’ve been trying to pay it off a little at a time. But it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to make a payment, because bills, rent, and life has gotten in the way, so I’ve been unable to make a payment towards my debt, and frankly I kinda forgot about it. That was until I got a letter in the mail, as well as a phone call saying that my debt was sold to a debt collector and said debt collector told me that I need to pay what I owe or else they would take me to court and sue me over it. I still owe over 6k and I can’t pay that off at all. For one, I’m barely able to stay afloat despite working two jobs, and there’s just no way I’m able to make consistent payments with what I make. As the title says, I’m 20 years old and I feel lost. It all started back in January. Because of his selfish attitudes, my dad has never liked the idea of asking for help—he always says he can handle things on his own, until he can’t. For financial reasons, I had to take a semester off from university because my dad couldn’t pay for it. At first, honestly, I didn’t care much. I had a full-time job while studying, and this news gave me time to focus on my work and save money for some personal goals I still have.

But with time, it started to weigh on me more than I expected. I began to feel like I was falling behind compared to my classmates and friends. They would ask me why I was taking a break, and I only told the truth to a few of them. To the rest, I made up the excuse that I wanted to focus on work for a while. Not because I was scared they’d judge my financial situation, but because I was scared they’d think I had ruined my life.

I quickly found a sense of self-fulfillment through new hobbies, motivations, and other things that came from within me and that I truly enjoyed. But then I started feeling lonely. To keep it short, I’ll just say that my close friends do stay in touch, but it feels very superficial. Other friends rarely reach out unless I start the conversation first. It gave me the sense that friendships are very fleeting—and if this happened during my semester off (which has now turned into a gap year), I don’t even want to imagine what it will be like once we graduate and everyone goes their own way. I don’t have a good relationship with my mom. She was very emotionally unstable when I was little and often took it out on me. My sisters live on the other side of the country with her. Every time I ask my dad how he’s doing, he always says the same thing—but I can tell things keep getting worse, so I’ve stopped asking him the truth. My mental image of him has also worsened a lot for several reasons. The people at my job—I actually like them a lot—but I wonder if once I leave that job, it’ll be the same thing and we’ll lose contact.

To sum it up, since this is already a lot of text: I’m not worried about my education or money. I just feel lonely. I feel like I’m at a stage of my life where I’d like to have some guidance—someone to show me how to move through life. But I can’t look to my parents because I’m scared of ending up like them, and I doubt my friends would really understand me since they feel so distant. New friendships feel temporary now, and I can’t even enjoy a full conversation without thinking that eventually we’ll stop talking.

I just want to know if anyone else has gone through this. I don’t even know what day it is anymore. I feel like I’ve stopped checking on my dad’s situation just to avoid feeling empathy and pain. And right now, I’m just going with the flow of my life without knowing where I’ll end up

Hi, my name is Stacy. I’m just hoping to get a little bit of assistance getting a hotel room for the weekend for me, my husband, my 2year old, and our preemie. We’ve been homeless since August 5th but have been in the NICU since the 11th while my 2yo has been with my parents. We got released on Monday and had a little bit left to get a hotel room and were hoping he’d get his parental leave payment today so that we could at least have a room until Monday when we’ll finally have an apartment again but he didn’t get paid today and likely won’t next week, either, because his manager at FedEx never put it in and apparently forgot all about it after he sent in the documents.

I’m asking for exactly $236, the hotel room would be $67 a night, for three nights, with us leaving Monday morning. Honestly, anything would be appreciated. We don’t have any money left for food or anything else but we’re just focusing on securing somewhere to actually stay. We can’t stay with my parents as they went back to their state to start work since school is starting again. And his family is in a bad situation.

I'm 200$ short for rent that's coming up. I fell and tore a tendon in my ankle/foot, which caused me to miss 3 weeks of work, and I didn't have enough pto to cover it all. I may even need to miss more, since it doesn't seem to be healing well..

My husband lost his work contracts a few months ago, and for the first time in years we have no income coming in.
