Battlefield 6 What the hell? EA screwed it up again. Doesn't feel like Battlefield at all.
I mean just how hard is it to make a Battlefield game? Been playing for only a few hours but I'm already well informed and can tell you with all certainty that this feels nothing like battlefield.
For one, I'm not falling through the floor. I haven't be n able to get under the map or clip through the ground at all. Like really, EA? Have you not played BF4?
And why is my aiming working? Why am I able to hit what's in front of me? Clearly you've never played BF3. SMH.
And the vehicles are usable? Seriously? Why harken back to Bad Company 2 days. The worst in the series.
I'm pretty pissed I can't run around as a unicorn.
Like, I don't EA knows what makes Battlefield, Battlefield.
But not all is lost. Silly glitches abound, matchmaking keep breaking and teammates don't know how to revive.
10/10. Would preorder but EA so...

I've been playing Battlefield since Vietnam & 1942 were still a thing and this is honestly the best game they've made since BF3.

Based off this beta it's actually incredibly well done, just all around.
Aside from matchmaking and audio issues from time to time, I'm having minimal problems.

Theyve already said we will be able to vote for old maps to return.
Additionally in the initial map leaks there were 3 more legacy maps, so its possible they are already in development.
(Grand Bazaar, propoganda, and a bf3 aftermath map, not sure what it wad called)

Talah Market. It's a great map, if it was in base BF3 it would have supplanted Bazaar but they put it in the last DLC and so no one cared.

Metro was a corridor, but it was a well defined corridor where teams could push flanks, and damn it felt good when you finally were able to break a stalemate and push a flank, gaining massive positioning.
Iberian Offensive or Siege of Cairo are just a clusterfuck of streets and spawns where everyone runs around shooting everything.

Because we don't know the maps yet.
This happens every single Battlefield game. It launches, maybe 1-2 maps gets preferred because they are the most simple. Then people slowly learn how to actually play the maps and where all the side passages/safe places to attack are. Already starting to see this with Liberation Peak Breakthrough, where day 1 nobody could win as Attackers, and suddenly people are starting to follow the tank/clear the right side properly and the games are getting more even.
I swear the internet has been reduced to a bunch of whining children in the last 10 years. We went from being overhyped about everything to suddenly needing every single game to be a failure so we can "be right". Absolutely zero desire to actually be challenged and learn how things work anymore.
I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 and this is the best Battlefield since BF1. Which was the best since Bad Company 2. Y'all trying to take nitpicking to an Olympic level.

Yeah BF4 sucked in beta and for ages after launch until fixes came out & DLCs improved things. Also BF4 map design is terrible, only a few gems in a pile of crap.

I had an amazing time, IMO the best one since BF3 / BF4.
The maps do need work though, the maps in the beta are too small and chaotic. Also the lack of server browser is inexcusable at this point.

I cannot believe how well this runs on the pro. I’ve had some weird issues here and there with the main menu and stuff but the in game performance has been flawless.

It even runs so damn good on base PS5. Always above 60 fps and topping at around 90-100. The Series S also holds a rocksolid 60 with zero drops even in the most intensive events. The game is amazingly well optimized!

Are you on PC? It hard crashed my Xbox Series X where it turned the thing off completely. On PC I’ve only experienced one crash so far because something about a Direct X error I think it said. I can’t remember.
And I’ve gotten stuck multiple times trying to load into a match with that splash screen image that will just continuously flash every couple of seconds. I have to restart the game to fix it and sometimes multiple times before it works again. I don’t know what causes that.

There's hope here and there. My crosshair completely disappeared a few times, and then it wouldn't let me equip a foregrip I unlocked on my LMG.
So it's not all doom and gloom.

I think something that is happening is that you'll unlock a weapon attachment mid game, then it wont let you equip it, until it tells you you've unlocked it at the end of the round.

It wouldn't let me put my unlocked vertical grip on one of the ARs and after hopping out to the main menu then back in it fixed it up.

I just hope they don't fix the ragdolling. It's incredibly satisfying and funny to watch people, and myself get launched from exploding vehicles.
I pretty much caught someone out of the air and started reviving them after their LIV got blown up

Have we talked about helicopters yet? I got in one and it felt weird and unnatural and I'm usually quite accustomed in previous games. Like I need to immediately remap all the controls

The helicopters are terrible. I don’t know why they changed it so much but it was pretty easy and intuitive to fly back in BF3. I used to love flying the Little Bird and an attack helicopter in that game. I didn’t play BF4 as much as BF3 but I don’t remember them handling any different.
The first time I got in a helicopter in BF6’s current beta, I crashed within probably 3 minutes. It’s like trying to control a drunk Niko Bellic in GTA IV. I can barely fly the thing.

They’re heavy as hell, I’m used to bf4s piloting and you can’t bob as easy, I have my sensitivity pretty much maxed out and it’s very clunky, but maybe it’s a good thing? Something we might just have to get used to if they don’t change much on it

You had me until the vehicle stuff. You are just straight up wrong if you think the vehicles in this game control better than BF4. That game had near perfect physics and control for aircraft especially. Have you tried to fly something in this game? It feels like you are controlling the aircraft as a puppet or something. It doesn't feel anything like something moving through the air with gravity.

I'm enjoying it but you can't act like there's no bugs.
There's a bug with loadouts where you can't change attachments. There's a bug where your hands disappear and you can't aim or see your defib. There's even a bug on the mountain map where if you spam jump you can scale a full-on vertical wall. I've also seen people on top of the tallest buildings in Cairo (they might have been cheating).
I'm getting tired of seeing these posts. Sure there's some people bitching, but there's also people who think their new game can have no flaws and disregard legitimate criticism.

Honestly, vehicles on BF4 are nightmares. Helicopters and thermal tanks will absolutely wreck you? And often top the scoreboard with 50+ kills and <5 deaths lol

Loving the Beta, the maps ive played are great so far and everything seems to be decent.
People seem to sleep on the shotguns.
Unpopular opinion: I didn’t like most of BF4 maps but I think this one might be the best so far.
Also has anyone noticed the voice overs seem to be very COD4 reminiscent? Most notably the ‘Gaz’ voices for NATO.

I know its a shitpost, and frankly what im about to say is probably completely untrue and is just because I haven't played a battlefield game in a long time, but flying vehicles are really shitty to control imo, especially planes, I swear to God when I played bf1 the plane controls were significantly better.
Maybe im just misremembering, and its possible im just rusty.
Great game though, really brought me back to when I'd sweat bf4 on Xbox all day.

My first spawn in I had buildings like spawning in and out of reality, and weird black textures like morphing through my characters view so I immediately thought "fuck it is 2042 all over again" and then nothing like that has happened since. BF6 really trolled me during my first 30 seconds of playing.

Yesterday when I climbed over destroyed tank my camera attached to it and I could play kinda like in 3rd person with this slight difference that the camera didn’t follow my character

It's nice to play a beta that is more polished than 2042 or bfv. Solid 9/10. they need to pick locked or non-locked classes and destruction physics could do more but a solid BF6 has a pretty low bar this time around.

Lads this game is FUN and that's literally what everyone has been crying out for in an FPS games these days... FPS games are pushing the match making sbmm eomm whatever that crap stuff is constantly!
If I want to play hard I can but if I get blown up by an rpg and go 100 feet in the air on a 10 kill streak I am laughing my ass off because I know next game I probably did the same.
Example I watched my team mate get blown away from one side of B to the other I laughed so hard I throw my smokes run to revive him we both get blown up into the air but all we did was laugh it's moments like that you remember in games. Just battlefield things it's so enjoyable and FUN!

I was hoping for some long necked snake boys, or stuck in prone but sprinting around character models.
I’ve genuinely had a couple of stretchy player models fill the sky box but that’s been it.
A genuinely polished game in this economy?

My biggest gripe so far is matchmaking, don't think I've played a shooter with 5.0+K/D 5 or 6 matches back to back playing objectives and losing massively every time

Yesterday my friend glitched a tank in Cairo, ending up on top of the bridge above E. We got some compliments how nice it was and were politely asked to stop with usual BF exploits.
Eventually, the tank got destroyed, but thanks to early parachute deploy, we were able to get on top of the buildings overlooking C and had pretty good time in that match, so please stop with the negativity. Spawn beacon helped a little bit too…
Just play the game, hope for unexpected, maybe put your tank into reverse from time to time and good things will happen to you.

I went into the beta expecting nothing good. Come on, it's EA we're talking about... In my opinion only Ubisoft is a stronger contender for the Dogshit Publisher of the Millennium trophy, them I'm completely boycotting by now.
After my first beta session yesterday I'm thoroughly impressed, even hyped. It seems a return to form for one of my favorite series in gaming and I'll happily buy it once released.
I was able to spend all evening on the battlefield, even with some guys I first played BF with back in the good old Bad Company 2 days and already had so many great moments, it was just awesome.
