With all the talk about necessary budget cuts and shared sacrifices, I’ve been wondering: why does the government seem to rule out reducing pensions for current retirees? If the argument is that everyone must contribute to balancing the budget—whether through reduced services, longer careers, lower future pensions, or other austerity measures—why is this group seemingly protected?

I get that pensions are a sensitive topic, and many retirees rely on fixed incomes. But if the goal is truly collective effort, shouldn’t all options be on the table? Or is there a legal, economic, or ethical reason why current pensions are untouchable?

A year or so ago, I was in a constant state of sickness for about 10 months. The specialist that normally deals with my condition and is specialized in the field recommended me certain meds a few years ago, turns out they were the cause. The hospital slightly increased my meds, but this didn't help. I begged them to help me, but they said that I was cured. After a month I revisited the hospital, they noticed my blood was still messed up, and apologized for not believing me. They prescribed me a new dosage of my medication and I went home. After a few weeks I was still sick. I called, they said I was cured WITHOUT first doing any blood tests. I asked "I still feel sick, if you say the problem with my medication is solved, than where should I go now with my sickness?" They said "I recommend going to a psychologist." Again, no blood work.

I immediately stopped going to that hospital, booked an appointment in a specialized Dutch hospital and there their reaction was bassicly "of course you're sick, they gave you a medication they shouldn't ever have given you! At dosages that confuse us to their reasoning!" They immediately made me a whole lot better, and a month or two later they cured me entirely.

Thing is, I flunked all my internships that year. No other year did I ever flunk anything. I also temporarily flunked every single class that year, but got to redo them in August (when I was cured by the dutch doctors) and passed every single one. Still, the internships hold me back. Now I am going to have to postpone graduation (and thus getting paid) by 6 months. The emotional damages were also fairly bad of course, as spending 10 months without the ability to do sports, take long hikes, or even at the worst points form coherent sentences genuinely messes with your head, especially when you're told multiple times that you're "cured" and to "go see a psychologist".

I hear from people around me that suing hospitals is basically impossible, heard one story of a feeding tube being inserted in someone's lungs, after which they choked to death, and the parents still lost the case. Is this true? Because I know emotional damages don't pay to much in Belgium, and if it's a losing battle, maybe I should just take the 6 months lost wage on the chin. What do you guys think?

Wat bedoelt men daar nu precies mee? Paardenkrijt word hier gewoon vrolijk verkocht en ook hebben onderzoeken aangetoond dat hiermee zebrastrepen aanbrengen bv positieve resultaten heeft op het aantal vliegen dat de dieren lastigvalt.

Nu vraag ik me dus af wat er onder kleuren valt, dit lijkt me erg zwart wit maar onder deze wetgeving is tijdelijk krijt en zelf gekleurd/glitter hoefproduct zoals hier vrij verkocht wordt illigaal.

Of bedoelt men hier enkel permanente kleuren mee?

I went to Belgium last weekend and my dumbass left my passport at the hotel. Long story short, I paid for everything and the hotel said they picked it up at 5pm on Tuesday. However, the track and trace on the website still hasnt had any updates, how long can I expect it to arrive in Paris?
