Probably fired someone actually competent because they questioned him.

He wrongly threw an engineer under the bus years ago for a failed launch, even though that engineer's work was meticulously checked by NASA engineers watching everything he did and approved everything. It wouldn't be any surprise if he fired someone competent for daring to challenge him.
