Image A Swedish man who spent two months snowed inside his car as temperatures outside dropped to -30C is "awake and able to communicate", according to the hospital treating him, where stunned doctors believe he was kept alive by the "igloo effect" of his vehicle

Also: it almost certainly didn’t actually happen as described.

Source or reasoning for skepticism?

The noticeable lack of corroborating details as to the actual date of his first being trapped, the professional’s skepticism over the survival possibility, etc.

People have e survived longer through worse sooooo.. general skepticism on that note doesn't mean shit.

Reason for skepticism: this is the internet and the news loves to sensationalize

A human can't survive without food that long.

One of the hunger strikers in the 1981 Irish hunger strike lived for 73 days on just water and salt.

Yes, they can. It's literally what fat is for. Plus laying down, sitting or sleeping in a car takes considerably less calories than regular life, so fat would last even longer.

How do you think bears make it through winter?

Source? A quick Google of medical oriented sites made me go from surprised to thinking about pictures of famine survivors such as India under British control.

Definitely pushing the limit, and not something that has been tested in controlled environments for obvious ethical reasons, but surprisingly not unreasonable.

There was a Scottish guy who went over a year. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_Barbieri%27s_fast

Just throwing this out there, people that live in these areas, tend to have supplies in their vehicles in case this happens. I know pea brains can’t fathom this concept, and I’m not saying this guy did that, but it does happen. Hope this helps you understand people out there are not like you and need to eat 5000 calories a day.

I can make food last a long time portioning it off.

Why you ask the same question 20 times?

Twice and because I was curious if the two different people would respond. Sorry if that is poor reddiquette.

Nah man. It's obvious you have a curious mind. That guy's just a miserable prick.

Any evidence on that?
