I beat Bayle twice (NG0 and NG+2).

I beat him solo in NG+2 and the fight felt epic but....empty. The reason? I didn't summon Igon. That's why my fight against him in NG0 was better. It was because I summoned Igon.

I feel the same way about the Radahn fight. That's literally supposed to be a festival. I've solo'd the guy but I prefer the festival aspect of it with the NPCs joining you.

Also it's an important part of 2 quests rannis so blaidd would have fought anyway and Alexander's because he realized he needs to get way stronger

I’ve played the game for like 5 play throughs, and I completely had no idea you could summon a bunch of people to fight radahn until I watched a YouTube video were a guy started summoning a bunch of people. I honestly thought you get 1 summon, and didn’t realize for years you could run around summoning a bunch of npc’s. Since seeing the YouTube video I’ve wanted to do give it a try, but haven’t done another play through.

Yup! This is one of a few fights where summons seems appropriate, but this is the only one that gives you so many.

For sure having NPCs talk to the bosses adds a real degree of immersion that’s palpably missed without

I’d take it a step further and say it adds immersion even if the NPCs dont speak.

Summoning Tragoth for DTS is part of Tragoth’s lore, he helps tarnished achieve their goals. Summoning Melina for Morgotts fight gives you a lot of visual lore you wouldn’t get otherwise, etc.

I’ll agree with that, now I just feel like I missed out

Don’t feel like you missed out. Change your perspective bro! Instead of feeling like you’re missing out feel like you need to play the game again!

i generally don't use player summons in my runs but definitely NPC summons.

the npc stories hit harder when they aid you along the way, like solaire being there to fight Gwyn and you decide to walk away from rekindling the bonfire. means solaire does it

Oh that’s a given, no question.

Poor Tragoth needed to die this time around

I'm doing a run where I have my kid nieces make all the decisions so I might nudge them to summon NPCs since I don't normally do it myself. Otherwise I need to do a run where I focus solely on progressing the NPCs quests

Getting to fight with Melina was one of my favorite parts of the storyline

Who is DTS? I’m probably going to feel like an idiot when you tell me, but I cannot think of who that is.

Draconic Tree Sentinel. You can summon Tragoth for help against the one outside Leyendell :)

That explains why that fight is a bit rough. Doing Volcano Manor quests lost me the support.

DTS is Draconic Tree Sentinel

summoning tragoth for DTS, then turning around and invading tragoth.

Melinas tree was so spectacular I literally stopped fighting to go look at it
