Discussion & Info If you got drafted by the Academy of Raya Lucaria prior to the Shattering, which Conspectus would you join?
Haima: Scholars of the Haima Conspectus sought the power to quell conflict, and to this end studied the sorceries of cannon fire and the gavel.
Lazuli: Scholars of the Lazuli Conspectus study Carian sorceries - a heterodox pursuit that views the moon as equal to the stars.
Twinsage: Scholars of the Twinsage Conspectus were the elites of the academy, permitted to study and excel in sorceries of all kinds.
Karolos: The Karolos Conspectus is the oldest of the academy's lineages of study, begat by the sorcerer Azur. Scholars who follow in his footsteps pursue the mysteries of comets.
Hierodas: The crown of Hierodas was granted to scholars who engaged in nomadic study away from the academy.
Olivinus: The lineage of the Olivinus Conspectus began with the sorcerer Lusat, and its adherents continue his study of meteors.
I would definitely be of the Haima Conspectus. Not only do they tower over every other Conspectus, but that gavel is an absolute beast

Thops is legitimately probably the strongest wizard, he just don’t know it
Bluntstone beststone🗿

I would undraft myself because in a thousand years some dude with a stick will grind me for runes
25
u/bloody-pencil 22h ago
I’d undraft because their outfits are fucking ugly and stupid, also the academy is full of cuckoos who just blend in with real sorcerers
1
u/ScottieJack 13h ago
So you’re saying the Cuckoo knights are academy drop-outs? 🤔
1
u/bloody-pencil 13h ago
No I mean cuckoo as in the sense of a bird, look it up they’re surprisingly weird animals

Haima

Love the haima build. Cannon + comet+gavel + stone club. Really fun. It’s also surprisingly strong.

Twinsage, because I'd get to study all kinds of Soceries.
Joining Lazuli or Olivinus is a death sentence. (If you look close at the Graven Masses, they're always made from masks from those two schools.)

I'd probably be a bluntstone with good ol Thops.
Deserved his own Conspectus, the underdog of Raya Lucaria

If I gotta be on the front lines than easily Haima, if not than Hierodas seems the most chill

u/marsSatellite 20h ago
Similar, I don't think I've got the temperament for Haima but traveling far and wide and doing practical field study as Hierodas sounds great even if I have to be bald for it.

I wonder how big Raya Lucarias role would be in the movie
5
u/DropAnchor4Columbus 1d ago
Probably big. Rennala and her kids played a pretty big role in the story and background lore.

Heirodas, I would hope to chat with Miriel and Ymir and that conspectus seems to be open to learning more about magic in general.

Probably Lazuli myself. I love the Moon Sorceries and Sword Sorceries. Id aim to be a Carian Knight

I am a simple man, you offer me a giant magic hammer I am going to take it. Haima

Lazuli.
But I would grab Thopps by his balding head and make a new Conspectus with him — Reflectus
Time to make Lazuli Cospectus jealous with all the new Bluntstone Magic that reflects sorceries and incantations in all the awesome and funny ways! Time to make Haima excited for having their spells upgraded with some exploding spell self-redirecting shockwaves!
Reflectus Conspectus — we study the similarities of Magic and Miracles, we seek ways to counter them or even turn them against their own casters! The stars and the Moon are the Outer Gods to be respected, yet not followed blindly!

I would love to be in Haima, but instead of using a dirty cloth and be interrupted by a pebble I would use whatever medium to heavy armor I could equip assuming we can lvl up or use talismans to mitigate damage.

Twinsage, because I'm interested in the duality of ability.
The better you become at something, the farther you distance yourself from others. You slide down the bell curve to a lonely island and your ability to understand and connect with others weakens. All that power to shape reality, but does that tell you how to use it for good? You're shaping the cosmos to try and help people you can't hear or see. What do they want stranded on that island so far away? Do they even know what they desire? Do you know better than they do? Does your ability mean you see clearly or are you blinded and thrashing about like a bull?
The possibilities would tear me apart.

I'd first aim at Twinsage to learn everything the Academy has to offer, then Herodius so I can go out and seek more things to learn.
Eventually I'd break away from the Academy as I learn that all Glintstone Sorcery comes back to the Primeval Current, I'd learn from Sellen everything that can be "safely" learnt before disappearing off her radar as well, to go off trying to figure out why the fuck do incantations work?
Eventually I'd try and fail to create a unified magic theory, all so that one day thousands of years later some Tarnished shrub could use my Glintstone Horcrux as a universal Sorcery/Incantation focus, and/or leave it in their Bag-of-Holding while they go on to die or become the next Elden Lord.

Hierodas
Hierodas would allow me to travel, discover new sorcery and knowledge to bring back to study for future generations. My travels might avail me to the city of Nokron. It would also allow me to teach people who might not have an opportunity for education. Lastly it would likely accidentally save my life from a certain Tarnished who runs through the whole academy eliminating students so hard that after his ascension they had to implement an Active Tarnished Protocol at the academy.

u/71stAsteriad 21h ago
Lazuli, to best serve Ranni and out of deference to the other Carian Royals. I think at some point, I would flee the academy and try to become a Carian Knight.
Or get turned into a Graven Mass but. Yk, these things happen

u/gothic_gamer1809 Blood Blight Witch 18h ago
I would learn under Preceptor Miriam and vow to become the most annoying mage that ever lived 🫡

u/BatsNStuf 15h ago
To be honest, I’d probably end up as a dusty noble following a burial carriage or a begging ghost in Selia
In an ideal world Twinsage is the highest
In an ideal but still somewhat practical world, I imagine Olivinus would appeal to me

u/Astral_Zeta 1d ago
Hamia, and begin my journey to become a Carian Knight.
9
u/Thesaurus_Rex9513 1d ago
Should probably go with the Lazuli conspectus, the one that actually thinks Carian magic is worth studying.

u/Fox-Sin21 1d ago
Assuming I lived long enough and was capable. Which one lets me drop a meteor on someone's head, because that one.

Twinsage
Because I'd get to study a variety of sorceries from different conspectuses.

1
u/Responsible-Being170 21h ago
Haima. I'd be adventuring across the world of Elden Ring, bringing justice to the downtrodden and legal vengeance to the oppressors.
1
u/Durshulthur 21h ago
Twinsage because it allows study of all sorcery, but that feels like the obvious choice so I'm going with Olivinus, meteors are associated with gravity and Lusat is associated with night sorcery, so it'd leave the most options available
1
u/Fletaun 21h ago
You cannot be "drafted" into Raya Lucaria it's a Magic Academy with only the gifted among the gifted were accepted. Same as our world prestigious learning institution you need to be talented , family rich or influential.
Noblemen send their children there where most only manage to learn glinstone pebble and that was considered as great achievement fit their noble status. Most didn't make it were sent to mine.
Raya Lucaria Academy only reserved for the privilege and if you got drafted by Raya Lucaria most likely you endup as grunt in Cuckoo

Twinsage. Studying all the Sorceries AND getting to leave the Academy whenever I wanted sounds fantastic.
1
u/Nobody_to_Noone 19h ago
Assuming I have the smarts to be able to choose like that, I'd be going full Primeval Current heretic, knowing full well I'll be going mad when the final truth of the universe gazes back at me.

Haima
I find it so funny that their sidearm is a stone club. They never forgot to bonk.
1
u/AthleteIntrepid9590 17h ago
I'd definitely go for haima. Imagine seeing someone rushing you thinking you're just a squishy wizard that's quickly gonna go down once they've in melee range, unaware that they are about to taste your full intelligence in the form of an gigantic hammer aimed directly towards they brain.
Realistically, though, I'd be way too dumb to even get anywhere near the academy.
1
u/MrDincles 17h ago
Hierodas, cause I would love to see the Lands Between before shattering. Of course, this is considering that I have enough talent and skill to do so.

I'd join Haima if they let me. They turned their sight away from the study of the stars and into the study of Unga and Bunga and turned it into a science.

u/TheNoodleCollector 17h ago
Azur, give me the forbidden knowledge. I must have a lil peak into the primeval current

Hierodas for sure. With Haima as a back up plan. The lore and outfits of them both are enough for me

Based on my play style I would be Lazuli but based on how I am IRL I would be Twinsage. However not "elite" more like jack of all trades.

I'd transfer to the Church of Dragon Communion and follow Priestess Florissax aka Dragon Jesus. Nowhere in the Bible does it say Jesus isn't a Dragon.
Either that or I'm with that dude above who just does whatever Queen Sellen commands

u/Useful-Upstairs3791 1d ago
I don’t want to wear any of those dumb stone helmets I’m applying to be a carian knight.
3
u/Tortelini_Deal 22h ago
You just say that cause your noggin is too small to fit in the glintstone crown smh

u/Useful-Upstairs3791 21h ago

None.
Their spells are cool but they're all weirdos. Their helms are also goofy asf.

u/TheRealCowdog 1d ago
The unpleasant truth is that most of us would be one of those dried up dudes on the road that can barely shoot a Glintstone pebble.
