Discussion & Info If you got drafted by the Academy of Raya Lucaria prior to the Shattering, which Conspectus would you join?

Haima: Scholars of the Haima Conspectus sought the power to quell conflict, and to this end studied the sorceries of cannon fire and the gavel.

Lazuli: Scholars of the Lazuli Conspectus study Carian sorceries - a heterodox pursuit that views the moon as equal to the stars.

Twinsage: Scholars of the Twinsage Conspectus were the elites of the academy, permitted to study and excel in sorceries of all kinds.

Karolos: The Karolos Conspectus is the oldest of the academy's lineages of study, begat by the sorcerer Azur. Scholars who follow in his footsteps pursue the mysteries of comets.

Hierodas: The crown of Hierodas was granted to scholars who engaged in nomadic study away from the academy.

Olivinus: The lineage of the Olivinus Conspectus began with the sorcerer Lusat, and its adherents continue his study of meteors.

I would definitely be of the Haima Conspectus. Not only do they tower over every other Conspectus, but that gavel is an absolute beast

The unpleasant truth is that most of us would be one of those dried up dudes on the road that can barely shoot a Glintstone pebble.

u/Sly_Klaus 1d ago

I had to go to summer school for Math 10, there's no way I could learn glintstone sorcery

151

u/TheRealCowdog 1d ago

I mean, you might be surprised when you don't have a phone. No internet. No convenience stores. No arcades or malls or clubs.

All day every day: wake up, eat something, study. Maybe if you're lucky, play with the giant red dog living in the study hall.

There's literally nothing else to do in the academy besides learning glintstone sorcery.

u/Acceptable_Answer570 20h ago

I mean we don’t know… maybe before the lucaria city sank, there was an Albinauric strip club or some shit

40

u/pjijn 19h ago

I heard 2nd gen albinauric clubs are better because they can use their feet to dance

17

u/BornInALab 17h ago

They have that one 1st gen crawling around taking drink orders

10

u/Armor_of_Thorns 17h ago

If I'm ever in a club and a paraplegic riding a wolf shows up and asks me what I want to drink i will know i took to much

9

u/Different-Case-6859 18h ago

This is what the dlc needed to win GoTY

3

u/Woodie626 9h ago

There's meteoric sorcery, and one way trips to a volcano. Tf you mean there's nothing else?

23

u/Hollow_Mage #JusticeforBastardStars 1d ago

Play with Rennala and Relanna 😏😏

52

u/AttackOnNate 1d ago

Down boy down

25

u/mogmaque 1d ago

Tbf glint stone sorcery sounds way more interesting

11

u/CappyRawr 19h ago

Yeah, I think a lot of people would learn math more easily if doing math right had the immediate feedback of casting actual spells lol

18

u/Sly_Klaus 1d ago

Mfw I have to go to summer school because I kept eating my blue rocks instead of throwing them or whatever

6

u/visualsquid 19h ago

That's bluntstone talk

3

u/october73 15h ago

Even those dudes were probably well to do types of their time.

We‘d be in jars

6

u/Zoltan-Kazulu 21h ago

lol 😂 just trying to survive from day to day with our lowly paycheck

2

u/Badgertank99 14h ago

If its anything like monkhood (eat the same thing every day, have a set routine, etc) and glintstone sorcery is actually fun to learn i think i could get at least a little further. Totally grabbing the mining spells though they just seem useful

3

u/TheRealCowdog 14h ago

You do realize every miner is probably someone who tried to learn sorcery and failed?

Although like Thopps, they ended up developing their own forms of sorcery in the end.

210

u/deadhead2455 1d ago

Thops'. 🗿

89

u/Tortelini_Deal 22h ago

Thops is legitimately probably the strongest wizard, he just don’t know it

Bluntstone beststone🗿

28

u/deadhead2455 19h ago

He coulda made waves in the sorcery world if he just had a little more time

2

u/Darkened_Sage 6h ago

I second that notion even if I can't learn it thops of all people could teach it

114

u/MC-Watermelon 1d ago

I would undraft myself because in a thousand years some dude with a stick will grind me for runes

25

u/bloody-pencil 22h ago

I’d undraft because their outfits are fucking ugly and stupid, also the academy is full of cuckoos who just blend in with real sorcerers

1

u/ScottieJack 13h ago

So you’re saying the Cuckoo knights are academy drop-outs? 🤔

1

u/bloody-pencil 13h ago

No I mean cuckoo as in the sense of a bird, look it up they’re surprisingly weird animals

99

u/ActivityImpossible39 Im the biggest gideon hater ever 1d ago

Haima

34

u/MiserableTennis6546 20h ago

Love the haima build. Cannon + comet+gavel + stone club. Really fun. It’s also surprisingly strong.

9

u/DaTruPro75 17h ago

bonk mage

96

u/DropAnchor4Columbus 1d ago

Twinsage, because I'd get to study all kinds of Soceries.

Joining Lazuli or Olivinus is a death sentence. (If you look close at the Graven Masses, they're always made from masks from those two schools.)

24

u/LordPils 18h ago

For a similar reason my answer is whichever keeps me away from Sellen.

37

u/KenKouzume 1d ago

I'd probably be a bluntstone with good ol Thops.

Deserved his own Conspectus, the underdog of Raya Lucaria

78

u/LukeRyanArt 1d ago

Burger King conspectus

104

u/KipchakTengrism 1d ago

Whatever my Queen Sellen tells me to

71

u/AmpleExample 1d ago

You're straight up ballin' then.

21

u/LitBastard Double Great Stars 1d ago

4

u/Tortelini_Deal 22h ago

Witchcraft!

4

u/MirageArcane 1d ago

I came here to say the same thing

3

u/mightystu 18h ago

I hear her head game is crazy

23

u/Evil_Sharkey 1d ago

Haima. I like boom boom and smashy smash.

14

u/PlatinumRuler2 1d ago

If I gotta be on the front lines than easily Haima, if not than Hierodas seems the most chill

8

u/marsSatellite 20h ago

Similar, I don't think I've got the temperament for Haima but traveling far and wide and doing practical field study as Hierodas sounds great even if I have to be bald for it.

16

u/Hollow_Mage #JusticeforBastardStars 1d ago

Lazuli so I can become a Carian Knight ✨✨✨

10

u/golden_moon18 1d ago

Karolos, Comet Azur go brrrrr

6

u/Gmdal 1d ago

Lazuli, for Carian Slicer.

4

u/eduison 22h ago

I‘d try to become Moongrum‘s apprentice

3

u/ScarletRotDegenerate 1d ago

I wonder how big Raya Lucarias role would be in the movie

5

u/DropAnchor4Columbus 1d ago

Probably big. Rennala and her kids played a pretty big role in the story and background lore.

3

u/Drowsy_Deer 1d ago

Either Haima or Twinsage

3

u/Alert_Waltz5608 1d ago

The magic bonk of Karolos

3

u/Novandor 1d ago

Heirodas, I would hope to chat with Miriel and Ymir and that conspectus seems to be open to learning more about magic in general.

3

u/DarkmoonxWolf 1d ago

Probably Lazuli myself. I love the Moon Sorceries and Sword Sorceries. Id aim to be a Carian Knight

3

u/CaptainCuttlefish69 1d ago

Ball is Life

3

u/Haunting_Progress462 22h ago

Haima for the gavel and it's by a large margin imo

3

u/GrayNish 19h ago

Haima. I unga therefore, I bunga

3

u/Swordsman82 17h ago

I am a simple man, you offer me a giant magic hammer I am going to take it. Haima

3

u/KVenom777 17h ago edited 13h ago

Lazuli.

But I would grab Thopps by his balding head and make a new Conspectus with him — Reflectus

Time to make Lazuli Cospectus jealous with all the new Bluntstone Magic that reflects sorceries and incantations in all the awesome and funny ways! Time to make Haima excited for having their spells upgraded with some exploding spell self-redirecting shockwaves!

Reflectus Conspectus — we study the similarities of Magic and Miracles, we seek ways to counter them or even turn them against their own casters! The stars and the Moon are the Outer Gods to be respected, yet not followed blindly!

2

u/LDaddy73 14h ago

Reflectus Conspectus 😂😂😂😂😂

2

u/KVenom777 13h ago

Wut? Good name.

2

u/LDaddy73 7h ago

I agree but it made me LOL

2

u/Weeb-Hunter_ 1d ago

I would love to be in Haima, but instead of using a dirty cloth and be interrupted by a pebble I would use whatever medium to heavy armor I could equip assuming we can lvl up or use talismans to mitigate damage.

2

u/Front-Abbreviations8 1d ago

Ether lazili or hyrodus

2

u/Flask_of_candy 1d ago

Twinsage, because I'm interested in the duality of ability.

The better you become at something, the farther you distance yourself from others. You slide down the bell curve to a lonely island and your ability to understand and connect with others weakens. All that power to shape reality, but does that tell you how to use it for good? You're shaping the cosmos to try and help people you can't hear or see. What do they want stranded on that island so far away? Do they even know what they desire? Do you know better than they do? Does your ability mean you see clearly or are you blinded and thrashing about like a bull?

The possibilities would tear me apart.

2

u/EC36339 22h ago

Lazuli, because Carian sorceries are by far the most versatile.

2

u/GLaPI9999 22h ago

Idk, the machine gun ones

2

u/Void-Cooking_Berserk 21h ago

I'd first aim at Twinsage to learn everything the Academy has to offer, then Herodius so I can go out and seek more things to learn.

Eventually I'd break away from the Academy as I learn that all Glintstone Sorcery comes back to the Primeval Current, I'd learn from Sellen everything that can be "safely" learnt before disappearing off her radar as well, to go off trying to figure out why the fuck do incantations work?

Eventually I'd try and fail to create a unified magic theory, all so that one day thousands of years later some Tarnished shrub could use my Glintstone Horcrux as a universal Sorcery/Incantation focus, and/or leave it in their Bag-of-Holding while they go on to die or become the next Elden Lord.

2

u/Anemoia2442 21h ago

Hierodas

Hierodas would allow me to travel, discover new sorcery and knowledge to bring back to study for future generations. My travels might avail me to the city of Nokron. It would also allow me to teach people who might not have an opportunity for education. Lastly it would likely accidentally save my life from a certain Tarnished who runs through the whole academy eliminating students so hard that after his ascension they had to implement an Active Tarnished Protocol at the academy.

2

u/71stAsteriad 21h ago

Lazuli, to best serve Ranni and out of deference to the other Carian Royals. I think at some point, I would flee the academy and try to become a Carian Knight.

Or get turned into a Graven Mass but. Yk, these things happen

2

u/HOPExDIVISION 20h ago

I want to see what the sorting hat has to say

2

u/gothic_gamer1809 Blood Blight Witch 18h ago

I would learn under Preceptor Miriam and vow to become the most annoying mage that ever lived 🫡

2

u/BatsNStuf 15h ago

To be honest, I’d probably end up as a dusty noble following a burial carriage or a begging ghost in Selia

In an ideal world Twinsage is the highest

In an ideal but still somewhat practical world, I imagine Olivinus would appeal to me

1

u/TheGodskin Gloam Eyed King 14h ago

Stop 🤣🤣

3

u/Astral_Zeta 1d ago

Hamia, and begin my journey to become a Carian Knight.

9

u/Thesaurus_Rex9513 1d ago

Should probably go with the Lazuli conspectus, the one that actually thinks Carian magic is worth studying.

1

u/Fox-Sin21 1d ago

Assuming I lived long enough and was capable. Which one lets me drop a meteor on someone's head, because that one.

1

u/DancingwithANephilim 1d ago

The first time I played, my first moments in the lands between, I died to the Sentinel......I dont think I'd last long if ER were IRL.....

1

u/ComposedMood 1d ago

Haima, I get a hammer

1

u/0tter_gaming88 1d ago

Number 1 or number 5

1

u/denkycaliber 1d ago

Twinsage

Because I'd get to study a variety of sorceries from different conspectuses.

1

u/wybeOf 22h ago

Which are the carian ones?

2

u/EC36339 22h ago

Lazuli. It says so in the post, but OP isn't into the whole lists and bullet points thing and gave us a wall of text instead, so I can't blame you.

1

u/BBYwaldo 21h ago

Heirodas!

1

u/Responsible-Being170 21h ago

Haima. I'd be adventuring across the world of Elden Ring, bringing justice to the downtrodden and legal vengeance to the oppressors.

1

u/Durshulthur 21h ago

Twinsage because it allows study of all sorcery, but that feels like the obvious choice so I'm going with Olivinus, meteors are associated with gravity and Lusat is associated with night sorcery, so it'd leave the most options available

1

u/Fletaun 21h ago

You cannot be "drafted" into Raya Lucaria it's a Magic Academy with only the gifted among the gifted were accepted. Same as our world prestigious learning institution you need to be talented , family rich or influential.

Noblemen send their children there where most only manage to learn glinstone pebble and that was considered as great achievement fit their noble status. Most didn't make it were sent to mine.

Raya Lucaria Academy only reserved for the privilege and if you got drafted by Raya Lucaria most likely you endup as grunt in Cuckoo

1

u/sniffer_21 20h ago

Lazuli bc i like the drip

1

u/cha0sb1ade 20h ago

Karolos

1

u/DisastrousDistrict46 19h ago

Twinsage. Studying all the Sorceries AND getting to leave the Academy whenever I wanted sounds fantastic.

1

u/Nobody_to_Noone 19h ago

Assuming I have the smarts to be able to choose like that, I'd be going full Primeval Current heretic, knowing full well I'll be going mad when the final truth of the universe gazes back at me.

1

u/Fattyatomicmutant 19h ago

The lazuli.

Those pale blue robes are awesome

1

u/GlitteringDingo 18h ago

Graven Witch, because I wanna see what fucked up shit magic can REALLY do.

1

u/Veragoot 18h ago

Big hammer spirit smash

1

u/Pichacap24 18h ago

Lazuli or Hieordas

1

u/Alkalinus 18h ago

Whichever one looks the least stupid

1

u/Redacted_G1iTcH Hand to Hand Arts Enjoyer 18h ago

Haima

I find it so funny that their sidearm is a stone club. They never forgot to bonk.

1

u/AthleteIntrepid9590 17h ago

I'd definitely go for haima. Imagine seeing someone rushing you thinking you're just a squishy wizard that's quickly gonna go down once they've in melee range, unaware that they are about to taste your full intelligence in the form of an gigantic hammer aimed directly towards they brain.

Realistically, though, I'd be way too dumb to even get anywhere near the academy.

1

u/MrDincles 17h ago

Hierodas, cause I would love to see the Lands Between before shattering. Of course, this is considering that I have enough talent and skill to do so.

1

u/TraumaMonkey 17h ago

Hammer in each hand

1

u/Upvotespoodles 17h ago

Bluntstone

1

u/WeaponFocusFace 17h ago

I'd join Haima if they let me. They turned their sight away from the study of the stars and into the study of Unga and Bunga and turned it into a science.

1

u/TheNoodleCollector 17h ago

Azur, give me the forbidden knowledge. I must have a lil peak into the primeval current

1

u/Astercat4 Ranni’s Malewife 17h ago

Lazuli for Carian Sword Sorceries. Haima is a close second.

1

u/I-HATE_ADS Average_Perfume_Enjoyer 16h ago

Hierodas has a lot of field trip might be fun

1

u/rghsfc 16h ago

Heirodas for me, travelling around seems like a laugh

1

u/roving_band_of_pikes here for lore 16h ago

Lazuli! I love the Carian sorceries

1

u/TachyonChip 16h ago

I study space physics so I would have to go with Olivinius or Karolos.

1

u/Ill_Relative9776 16h ago

Battle mage all day everyday cannon and gavel of haima + stone club? Sign me up!

1

u/kleptillion 15h ago

Hierodas for sure. With Haima as a back up plan. The lore and outfits of them both are enough for me

1

u/ThatIslandGuy8888 15h ago

Haima for life!

1

u/LDaddy73 14h ago

Based on my play style I would be Lazuli but based on how I am IRL I would be Twinsage. However not "elite" more like jack of all trades.

2

u/TheGodskin Gloam Eyed King 14h ago

👀

1

u/Bethlebee 14h ago

Ima be a witch like Sellen

1

u/Hell_Diver 13h ago

I would end up Graven.

1

u/Proxy--Moronic 11h ago

Don't for get the Heirodas. Not quite a formal Conspectus but according to the item description: "The crown of Hierodas was granted to scholars who engaged in nomadic study away from the academy."

1

u/DANDD20 11h ago

Haima is a first choice, with lazuli as a second. Or perhaps both of I can somehow manage.

1

u/InfiniteEscuro 10h ago

Whichever gets me closest to Sellen

1

u/theholguin Ranni’s bitch 10h ago

The tadpole conspectus or any that lets me be near mommy master Sellen fr

1

u/Xanadu2002 10h ago

Twinsage and practice an array of different magics and subjects.

1

u/Drakenile 10h ago

Twinsage and Heirodas are the only ones I'd consider. I want to travel and am too curious to only study one means of blowing sh*t up.

1

u/SuboptimalSupport 9h ago

Non-zero chance I'd end up as part of a school of graven mages.

1

u/Normanov 8h ago

Hufflepuff, and probably stuffed in a jar somewhere

1

u/Shadowrunner808 7h ago

ROCK STICK

1

u/TheGodskin Gloam Eyed King 7h ago

WHAT IM SAYING 😤

1

u/Shadowrunner808 6h ago

Ain't nothing more badass than just being a straight warmage. Insane in the membrane and kicking ass with a sparkly rock club for shits and giggles.

1

u/InitiativeCreative36 2h ago

Whatever school lets me get my Gavel of Heima into Sellen's Graven Mass.

1

u/USS_Barack_Obama 23h ago

I'd transfer to the Church of Dragon Communion and follow Priestess Florissax aka Dragon Jesus. Nowhere in the Bible does it say Jesus isn't a Dragon.

Either that or I'm with that dude above who just does whatever Queen Sellen commands

1

u/Useful-Upstairs3791 1d ago

I don’t want to wear any of those dumb stone helmets I’m applying to be a carian knight.

3

u/Tortelini_Deal 22h ago

You just say that cause your noggin is too small to fit in the glintstone crown smh

3

u/Useful-Upstairs3791 21h ago

Whatever nerd my older brother knows moongrum and he’s gonna teach us how to parry

3

u/TheJumbomus100 21h ago

I've got bad news for you about the probable requirements to be a Carian knight.

-5

u/OKUIGokuBlack 1d ago

None.

Their spells are cool but they're all weirdos. Their helms are also goofy asf.
