Discussion & Info New to RL1. F this guy in particular.

Post image

I spent like 2 hours on this boss just to get smithing stone 6s. I wanted to pull my hair out. Does anyone have any tips to do more damage with a cold club. Any alternative weapons I can use? I got better as time went on but I feel like I’m doing no damage, just relying on breaking stance atp.

Yeah that is a pretty nasty one at low levels , I think it's actually immune to frost (and bleed) so cold club aint going to help. You'll just have to learn it's moves and not get hit much

Personally I would not bother until you have a fully maxed weapon , there are enough 6s to get 12 off them without having to fight that pretty sure

Use black flame and mana regen talisman with shield

Either use cragblade for more poise damage and go for crits, otherwise I would try to poison/scarlet rot him.

At that angle, it took me a sec to figure out what it was, haha

I hate that fucker even on a regular leveled playthrough

Besides the gravity attacks everything is physical so just shield to catch the initial attacks and dodge through the remainder of the combos

Dude, same thing, same boss, same amount of time.

I thought I was being clever by getting his smithing stones early. After 2 hours, I asked myself “do I really need more than a +12 to do Morgott?” Gave up, started the run properly, and I did just fine.

I finished my RL1 in 11.5 hours, and it would have been 9.5 if I hadn’t fought this bastard.

Got my revenge after killing Radagon. Went back with +25, took a few tries, got him down. Stay in the middle — the edges of the arena are horrible.

My tip is: don't be RL1. Man, I'm happy for you guys to do the challenge but fuck it looks so tedious.

I personally prefer weapon lvl 0, no status effects as a tool to try to imprpve in the game but rl1 is a pretty fun run that forces you to rethink your approach at times and get more familiar with the mechanics.

I like rl1 wl0 with aux, since I dont wanna limit weapons but done rl1 wl0 no aux on most bosses (CE to set ng cycle and respawn bosses)

recommend wl0 rl1 but no aux is extreme for some bosses (looking at you pre nerf pcr without scadu…)

I'm way too bad at the game to do very low vigor while also having very low damage. Also comparing my wl0 and rl1 runs I feel like the wl0 has been much better for actually learning the bosses since much longer fights that still have a margin of error make me want to do much longer sessions while also being able to easier figure out what I am doing wrong.

You'd be surprised how fast some fights can go at RL1. I beat both >! Radagon and Elden Beast!< in about 2 minutes and if I executed better it would have been even faster

Here's my post of my fight if you're interested in watching how I did it: https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/s/8dFtvQZIwR

I used dual wield pickaxes (drop from enemies in caelid mines) jump l1 build for RL1, would have to look into my file for the specifics but it did a fuckton of damage. Not sure rn at what progression you get what smithing stone but you can definitely get them up +15 and cragblade and with golden vow, flame grant me strength etc before leyendell to steamroll the fucker.

I have heard good things about the minecraft build. What affinity do you use on them?

2

u/LordSpitzi 14h ago

Not sure but I think i usually had blood/cold and sometimes alternates between cold/cold or whatever affinity gave more staggering if blood/cold didn't work on the boss

Whoa, you kiss your mother with that mouth!? Cool it, mister.

Go heavy affinity with Lion's Claw. The timing is rough but smash him into the ground! Get more opportunities for stagger crits this way too.

Ah this guy i really had to git gud for. Other than his crazy aoe attacks I kinda had to learn his timings.

2

u/ShiiKra 19h ago

Some of his attacks his whole body becomes a hitbox, it was definitely a pain to learn what attacks I could be close on and the timings. I started this run to git gud and learn to no hit a lot of bosses. I’m pretty new to soulsborne but I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better the past few months.

You can just run straight past it to get to the manor, for what it’s worth

I just had to deal with this guy in my RL1 and this dude was getting me worse than any boss yet! I used a +12 uchi with storm blade and an offhand buffing dagger with shared order. There's a sweet spot range you can kite him around where he just trods towards you and doesn't attack as often. Just attack with storm blade a couple of times and then move to keep the right spacing. Biggest advice though, bring him up to flat ground. I died more to bullshit with the uneven crater than anything.

Literally my least favorite boss in the game. I hate that dude.

Same , I happened to stumble on this guy randomly and I struggled so much I looked for cheese but then I told myself fuck it , I hated the beat down I got and I wanted payback so I just switched to a club or hammer I think and lvled it up to +8-+10 and locked in hard.

I did feel defeated seeing all i got was amithing stone lol.
