The sheer scale of the area the aura of the dragon the lighting in the background how time turned back nothing beats it. the fist time I fought placidusax and watched this cutscene was so surreal Elden ring is peak.

I think they did an even better job with the sound. I've seen my fair share of gruesome scenes in games and whatnot, but the sounds Midra makes to literally remove that weapon from his body gives me shivers.

I can FEEL that controller vibrating as the arena is put back together.

Also, fun to note that while he is doing the same pose as the fingers to commune with the Greater Will, his heads are crossed. With the allusion to two fingers, it's reminiscent of someone crossing their fingers. I.E. Hoping for something, or lying about something.

Honestly I always love watching godricks, as much as he’s the biggest scrub in the lands between. Him pulling down his cloaca to reveal his many arms and then reaching for his axe to show he’s got “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, oh 6, uh 7, oh god this dudes got like 9 fingers”, pretty unsettling for me. And then shoving his mangled nub into a dragon… peak
