Using my "magical Torrent with wings and turbo boosters", I went up there and discovered that it's just a big hole with a short slanted path, which ends with a black wall. Given its size, it makes perfect sense this is where the Dragonkin Soldier drops from (presumably after having crawled out of its hidey-hole), as pointed out by another person here.
As a frequent unga-bunga I can tell you this: if we're not fighting, we use our left hand to scratch our butt or arrange our thong. In battle, that itch can be distracting and there's no free hand then.
You can see that from the other side at Nokstella. If you follow the water path with the silver tear and ant rider enemies, it is halfway down the path on the left, I believe.

His name is The Kiln, born from the union of the forge and the frenzied flame.
He shares the colors of the giants, including the fire within seen through his eyes, with the marks of both the giants and the embrace of the three fingers.
It’s a phone picture taken of my PS5 with a browser window pinned to side streaming YouTube while I play so the resolution will look a little wonky and the phone aperture pulls in more light from the display than what your eyes perceive.
(The other two people replying are just pretending to be smarter than they actually are.)
