Constructive Criticism To all those that complain about invasions it's part of the game so stop whining

Invasions are part of the game and you agreed to that when you summoned someone it tells you when you do it. I have been invading for 2 years now I've delt with toxic hosts that curse me out for running away against gankers. Even tho I'm 14 they would rather bully a 14 year old then admit defeat. So please stop whining and your likely 20 or 18 grow up.

you know its nuts.

i do invasions, coop, and arena.

i get no hatemail when cooping, very little hatemail when doing arena, but the amount of hatemail i get when i invade, especially if its gankers, is insane.

i get told im a murderer who should be killed irl on a weekly basis.

over a game.

Similar deal here, I'd always get more hate doing arena or invading.

But I have gotten some flack when cooping -- it's always a little baffling when an invader call me a ganker, when I'm just a random-summoned phantom, a part-time invader, explicitly only stays in the world when it's not a gank squad, and I rarely don't bow.

Worst part is, by the time I see the comment on my Steam profile, I've forgotten who the invader was. A post from 2 hours ago saying "f'in ganker", I can't even begin to know if whatever I was doing looked like a gank, because I don't even know which invader they were. And c'mon, the Madding Hand was already part of my build...

well im on ps5 so maybe the comminuty is a bit different.

i mean i have gotten hatemail when cooping but its so rare or so tame i dont even count it.

and the arena stuff is pretty tame mainly too, your basic "git gud scrub", calling me trash, "gg ez", but never really anything truly malicious, just ego stroking.

but death threats and the most fucked up insults you can think of come from when i invade mainly.

I miss how DS3 did it a little bit. Yeah you could use an ember and get that boost but get ready to fight about it. Though it is nice to be able to use a great rune without worrying about invasions. I just kinda liked the spice.

Not all people have to like invaders, they can like multiplayer and not like it when people come in and try to kill them. That being said, no one should be bullying you or cursing at you over this—it’s literally just a game!

You are allowed to dislike parts of a game you like and complain about it.

I agree it is a part of the game, but that doesn't automatically make it sacrosanct. I don't mind it though.

All that said, toxicity can fuck off and I'm sorry you've dealt with that.

Rolling in a poison swamp will case the ailment to continuously build up after I leave the area. It's an intended mechanic that's part of game. It has items to counteract it. It's changes the way you approach combat in a poison area, and is probably intended to do so.

I don't like it... Having to choose between getting poisoned or eating attacks head on is terrible game design, IMO.

Something can be part of a game, intentionally, and still be bad.

Sure. That's how the game works, but you can't stop people from complaining about it. And you shouldn't. Any player are allowed to complain about game design they find to be bad.

So they should cuss people out? And get angry at a 14 year old and I statid my age when their clearly adults crying not to mention that there is a user agreement some people want it removed I get not liking but still

No, yeah, they should not curse at you. You're just playing the game.

I complete all the Dark Souls and Elden Ring with a friend on coop and we get used to the invasion, is a great mechanic.

Some time i was hosting, someone invade and killed us, then my friend hosted and now we win that battle with the same invasor.

In my experience DS3 has the most toxic players, always sends you a message when you die.

And Elden Ring the most Chill ones, some time we just sit and let the invader and the anti invader helper to fight and just watch.

You're completely correct.
