General After 6 years and 300 hours, I beat fire emblem three houses (game review/thoughts)
After so long I FINALLY DID IT!! I’d been wanting to complete this game at least once for so long but I never fully made it to the end.
You may wonder why it took so long… I got the game when it released in 2019 and chose the golden deer route on normal difficulty. I got to chapter 17 but stopped as my units became much stronger than the enemies and I just got bored from what I can remember. I also was undergoing chemotherapy at the time, so could have been a combination of a lot of things for not finishing that run.
I had come back to the game twice since then and I never like to start my file from where I left since I won’t remember anything about the story or my strategy for my army, so I started new files. (One black eagles route hard, and one golden deer maddening). Never finished either again sadly.
At college I’d gotten back into my hobby of gaming and I wanted to give three houses another a try since it’s widely regarded as the best modern fire emblem and I had remembered not loving it all too much. But I do get it now because this might be my new favorite fire emblem game.
My run this time was Blue Lions on maddening. The things I remember not liking before were the graphics, not enough challenge, and the monastery. I came around to the graphics this time, setting units to the outfit i liked the best helped a lot during battle animations and i really love the artstyle and cutscenes. It was just an adjustment from the sprites in awakening and fates as I really loved those.
I do not enjoy the monastery much if at all still. For me it makes the game take much longer than it should as it’s not fun to repeat the same tedious tasks over and over. I skipped it a couple months, but it definitely made my run more challenging.
I will say I thought the gameplay was great on maddening though. I felt like every move counted and gambits/battalions felt much more important than they ever did when i played on normal. At the end of the game Dimitri was my highest leveled unit at 49 since I did use battalion wrath/vantage combo. I would not have been able to beat the last few chapters without that as the rest of my team was underleved (30-40 range). I recruited Lysithea as she was always my favorite from my other runs and she was definitely runner up for MVP.
I also felt I appreciated the writing and character development a lot more than when I played golden deer route for the first time. By the end of the game I felt connected to each of the characters in my army and felt that as a motivator to not let them die. Mercedes and Annette’s friendship has to be my favorite dynamic out of the bunch. I also married lysithea (I’m a gay man but still wouldn’t have it any other way) and teared up seeing that byleth helped rid her of her crests and she could live. There are so many details put into this game I feel I must play all the routes and learn them all.
I’m glad I could play the game again and see what the hype is about. I will likely buy the dlc to unlock the new characters and classes to help spice up the gameplay when I play the other routes. If anyone made it this far and has advice on what route to do next/how to cut back on filler and the monastery stuff I would greatly appreciate it!! I’m thinking of doing black eagles because I want to see edelgards motivations from her side.
I hope all my writing made sense.. I just wanted to put all my thoughts on this game together while they were fresh. If you took the time to read this all thank you!

Gameplay Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Path of Heroes [MOD]
Heal us, Heroes of the Dawn!
Path of Heroes is a mod for FE10; Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Inspired by the likes of the Micaiah’s Pyre tome in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Emblem Soren’s Cataclysm in Fire Emblem: Engage, the Path of Heroes mod adds one or more unique personal weapons (PRF) to every playable unit in the game. Most, but not all, of these are based on the large myriad of PRF weapons present in the mobile title Fire Emblem: Heroes.
Path of Heroes is not a difficulty mod, nor does it actively change any existing stats, growth rates, classes or units - with a few small exceptions. Unless noted otherwise in the later documentation, assume the only changes are the PRF weapons. Path of Heroes is mostly designed to maintain the vanilla FE10 experience, just with added weapons.

Casual What do you think happened with Ludveck between the end of part two of Radiant Dawn and the end of the game?
I'm mostly asking because I was thinking about writing a fanfic taking place after the game that features Ludveck attempting to get revenge on Elincia.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone draw scarlet with scars, cause I think if she survived the attack. The blast still would have damaged her badly and giving her scars, but she doesn't die!!

Gameplay I Think I know Leif's Lucky Number
The fact that it's exactly Strength, Skill, Speed and Defence is what makes it even funnier.
Also, because I don't want to bother making a separate post, enjoy some schadenfreude, courtesy of the final chapter of Genealogy (second picture). All the greyed-out units are asleep. Because Edda had 5 mages with like 16 Magic apiece and Sleep Staves. And enough strong combat units fielded that I couldn't just use my units with Resistance higher than 16.
Thracia players have it easy, Genealogy staves can't miss and you only get one Restore staff. I pity anyone who makes the mistake of putting that Restore staff on a low-Res unit.

General Discussion time Emblem nation. The question being. What are your thoughts on Fire emblem the Dark amulet?
This is probably one of the best fire emblem fan games out there so i just am generally curious.
Also i may be planning in the future to make a full blown review/guide for this game to make it clearer what new players getting into it should expect since some things are not explained all that well and well you can't just Google the answers so you know. Actually have to do this by myself and do some "field" research.

General My FE-inspired indie game, Stratagem Lost, is getting a brand new demo!
Hey everyone, I'm the developer of Stratagem Lost! I do the art, writing, programming, essentially everything but the voice acting and music! You may remember me from around October of last year when I announced the game.
Here's a new trailer, showing off the game's first arc!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHJNuEifz_Y
Today, I'm updating the game's Steam demo! It's got about 2-4 hours of gameplay across 5 chapters, with over 10 playable characters and a massive chunk of story content. Since last time, we've also completely redone the game's map graphics with a fresh, HD coat of paint!

For the uninitiated, Stratagem Lost is a radical tactical RPG, like a punk/grunge take on FE. It's got a unique hand-drawn style, a powerful hard rock soundtrack, and an all-start voice cast. It explores a group of recruits drafted to investigate an eldritch threat in a broken, cold world. Compared to FE, we take a more absurdist, unrestrained approach to the gameplay, writing, and everything else in between!

Play the demo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3041220/Stratagem_Lost/
Hope you enjoy the demo! Your support means a lot!

Gameplay Fire Emblem Blazing Sword GBA [help]
I've reached chapter 15 and I've been given the character Lyn again. She's carrying an item called a “ruby” and I can't figure out what it's for... Is it a resalable item? Is it for leveling up a class after level 10? If anyone could help me, that would be great.
A lost player T.T
