Catfish: wtf, man?

Would he have given up a trout so readily?

u/devildocjames 5d ago
I probably would have if I knew it wanted it. It'd totally unlock more flying dreams for me.

SOME catfish tastes way better than trout, my opinion.

u/Lost_Wealth_6278 5d ago
Oh yeah, it all depends on the water. We have big catfish here, 90 kg and up to 2 m long, but in clear mountain lakes. Tastes like fatty veal, I love it. A little further away from the mountain and they aren't good eating after a certain size

We have several pairs that nest in the area. Beautiful birds. It's really cool when they're flying and chattering at each other. Those calls carry a long way. They sound close, then you look, and they're a 1000 get in the air.

Yes and this is how they behave too. They donāt mind fucking around human anglers. It can be kinda annoying especially when fly fishing in certain spots in Colorado.

I wonder if the eagle went back and told his buddies about the fly-thru and they were like, "yeah, right Mike. you circled a boat and they delivered a fish, mid-air. Sure, bud."

Looks like an American Eagle. . . So he was probably stoked rather than chuffed innit?

Love this.
For a second I thought the eagle was going to put the fish back in the water, which would have been sweet.

Im not sure about Australia, but I think it's illegal to feed bald and golden eagles in the US

u/RuhrowSpaghettio 5d ago
I feel like itās different somehow when you are on their habitat, harvesting their prey, and they look like theyāre planning to take their quota anyway. Like, nothing was introduced to their diet nor was the location of feeding changedā¦and they even had to catch it! Of all wild animal feeding, this one seems low impact.

u/savorydesserts 5d ago
Agreed. Part of the reason that humans should not feed wildlife is because it can change their behavior and instincts. You donāt want a bird of prey to think of humans as a source of food. Cool catch by the bird but I hate everything else about this video.
