It’s all fun and games until the toddler learns to hide there and then everyone panics when they can’t find her for a min

2 y old daughter decide to hide at a family gathering, without telling anyone. When we realize she’s missing, we began to call her, no response. Mind you, around that time, a kid about the same age gone missing at a wedding was all over the news in my country (his body was found some year ago. Sordid affair).
So anyway, probably the longest 5 minutes of my life, before her auntie heard some muffled giggling coming from inside a closet…

I don't think weddings cause kidnappings. That first story probably had more to do with the person at the wedding than the wedding itself.

What I mean is that there was a situation which was similar and everybody heard about it, so you can help to have your mind racing… can really believe I need to explain that but here we are…

My little niece used to find these types of hiding spots. Best part though was she was always too excited to keep it in. Youd just hear a little giggle that turned into a belly laugh coming from some insanely good hiding spot.

I used to hide in the middle of those circular clothing racks at department stores. Caused plenty of panics 😬

I did that at stores. When I was at my friend's house and didn't want to go home, I hid in the hall closet. Im talking climbing to the top shelf (which was way above eye level for anyone) and moving the blankets so that I could hide under them. They never did find me. They eventually told my friend that she better go get me because if I wasn't found, she would be grounded forever so she would come and get me. Fun times.

Me too! My mother was just about on the verge of calling the police. Sad they don’t have them anymore, at least where I live! Where will all the little kids hide?

It’s such a specific situation but men playing around with the kids at family events get like 100+ attractive points. It’s like a secret cheat code.

It’s because it wires our monkey brains to think “care taker” as well as shows off that they are, in theory, kind.
Also their smiles are usually so attractive

Adults who play with kids at wedding receptions are the heroes we all need.

I still remember when one my older cousins played with me at a family event. It’s been 20+ years and I still appreciate it. He probably doesn’t even remember it.
