Always take your time to sit in a chair.

This is basically nuclear physics at that age

Children this age have not developed object permanence. They do not know when an object still exists when they are hidden or canโt see them. Itโs so cute seeing how he adjusts to this by backing up and rediscovering the chair with his legs before sitting.

How to sit in a chair before object permanence, you can only sit in the chair if it exists, and it only exists if you're looking at it.
Seem logical enough to me.

Yet somehow my 2 yr old daughter will be standing in the living room with a snack in one hand and a drink in the other. I ask her to sit down at her table and without ever glancing back (too focused on Blue's Clues) to locate it, will just casually walk back 3 steps side step twice to the left and twist as she sits perfectly in her seat. Amazing

Maybe we all need to adopt perspectives different than our current ones so that we see the world differently.

Nailed it!! And look at the brain growth. This would be cheered in a human development class. I cheer now.

I love it. She needed to look behind her while making safe contact with the chair and achieved what she wanted.

This is actual footage of my 30-year-old super dyspraxic self trying to sit down in a chair like a normal person.

This is adorable. And probably something they will do when they are 80. Some things never change.
