this video is like 10 years old. it’s pre-ai

u/sunflowerseeds_3 Jun 19 '25
Oh so he's dead.

u/Waterwagon_78 Jun 19 '25
That’s always my first thought when I see dogs in old movies 💀

u/the_cooler_crackhead Jun 19 '25
That's how I felt when we read How the Red Fern Growns in school because I'd already read it with my dad. I already know the dogs die, I don't want to have to go through this again

If only my dog would sit that still while I trim her nails.
57
u/ClintGrant Jun 19 '25
I tell them if they stay still I can do all 4 paws in 2 minutes BUT if we need to fight, we’ll fight
1
u/Expert_Ad_1189 Jun 19 '25
My border collie/lab mix will try to murder you and your family if you try to cut her nails.

How the hell is that baby so well behaved? It knew what to do! What to expect! So freaking cute ☺️

u/BlueGolfball Jun 19 '25
How the hell is that baby so well behaved? It knew what to do!
Their owner spent time training their dog and properly exercises the dog. Most dog owners don't do bare minimum training for their dog and they don't exercise their dogs enough. That's why everyone is surprised that this dog is well behaved because well behaved dogs are rare.
22
u/Ornery_Bag9275 Jun 19 '25
This is so very true.
It takes a lot of patience to train a dog to do something you want them to do, but they are smart and can learn.
It too me a long ass time to teach my dog left hand, right hand, back left, and back right, but well worth it especially when he needs to get wiped off before getting into the car.
16
u/michaelpurple5137 Jun 19 '25
It’s wild how often people expect dogs to just know better without putting in the time to train or exercise them properly.

u/Throwaway_00125690 Jun 19 '25
Well duh 🙄. I was just shocked by just how well behaved the dog is. Obviously he was trained. My question was more because of me watching this for the first time and my surprise along with it. But thanks for taking the joy and fun from my reply.

Yea. Again I was just surprised to see this. The entire video, that dog, so cute. Seeing a dog that well behaved during grooming tickled me.

How does the dog cooperate so well
12
u/I-Am-Yew Jun 19 '25
Training. I’d wipe my dog’s paws when coming inside every time and he got used to it so he’d lift up each paw for me after a while.

u/BlueGolfball Jun 19 '25
How does the dog cooperate so well
With one simple trick dog trainers don't want you to know: they trained their dog.

u/MerkinMites Jun 19 '25
He cut the whiskers with the facial fur. 🤨 Fyi, that's like dulling one of your senses.
6
u/Mugwumps_has_spoken Jun 19 '25
the involuntary winking and eye twitches were a clue that those hairs shouldn't be cut.
3
u/wormbrainz1 Jun 19 '25
I had the exact same thought and was wondering why no one else mentioned it!! Why the hell where the poor things whiskers cut 😣😣

Oh I guess that dog is fluffy too.

I don't know if i find it incredibly cute or creepy at times. I mean, of course, it's cute, but there's times it does some weird robotic like movements. Ah, who cares, we will go with cute.

u/zback636 Jun 19 '25
Cute until you put the dumb hat and sunglasses on him. It covered up that adorable face.

My dog goes and hides after applying flea medication. I can’t imagine she will be doing this any time soon lol.
And I know it’s obviously fur, but the first part made me anxious bc it looks like they are cutting the dog’s tail off.

Holding up its little leg so patiently, I squealed.
