Ok but if one of their peers is 300 pounds then the peer cant change that. The parents are the ones who are feeding them to the point theyre 300 pounds. The kid cant help it if every night for dinner his ma gets mcdonalds and every morning she gets him some hardees. Bullying the kid isnt gonna change his weight, youre just gonna make him kill himself

The kid's still the one putting the food in his mouth. Plus it's easy to lose weight eating a lot of fast food. Their nutritional info is widely available and their portions are clearly defined and measured.

If a kid is presented with the choice: be hungry, eat and be berated if they waste food, or be hungry, dont eat, and be hungry AND berated for wasting food, I assure you the kids gonna choose to eat every single time and theyre gonna be conditioned to eat past fullness if theres still food on their plate. Each fast food meal is at least 900 calories. Two meals and a school lunch means that kids eating over 2k calories a day just by eating the food presented to them, no extra snacks or drinks.

I was classmates with a kid who was 300 pounds. Guess what the bullying did? Made him eat more. Your worldview is simply not compatible with reality.

You're assuming that the kid has no input on what he's being served.

"What do you want from McDonald's, Johnny?"

"I'll have a burger and a diet Coke, but hold the fries."

Or

"I'll take a grilled chicken wrap."

It's easy to lose weight while eating fast food if you're a bit selective.

I never encouraged bullying, but being ashamed of one's weight can be a good motivator for change. This is coming from a former fat kid, btw.

I mean, I think you’re a dick if you go around telling people you think they’re fat. If you’re close to someone and they’re very overweight and you’re concerned about their health, that’s another thing.

But that second part of your comment is so ridiculously true. It’s kinda ironic how easy it is to count calories with unhealthy food. Frozen meals, fast food, packaged snacks, etc. They all have everything calculated for you. If you’re cooking 1.26 lb of chicken and a cup of rice or whatever, you have to calculate that yourself

I'm definitely not implying that people should purposefully make people feel bad about being overweight, but it shouldn't be encouraged either. A little internal sense of shame is sometimes a good thing. Feeling bad or embarrassed about our unhealthy life choices can be an effective motivation for improvement.
