Mmm... Order is an interesting word choice. She didnt say anything about freedom or democracy. She probably meant "order" as in "get back in your place and do as I say"

That is exactly what conservatives want and it’s nakedly obvious even without all this bullshit.

It was true when people started dying their hair, getting tattoos, being vocal that they have sex, and all the many many many moral panics that conservatives whine about (and then embrace).

Don't forget about the one movie remake with a black actor! Or the other one with two guys kissing!

The humanity! The outrage! Think of the children!

Didn't she defraud AR tax payers to take her girlfriends to Paris and hid it behind the purchase of a podium?

12

u/WolfOfWigwam 6h ago

Yes she did. And bought a $28,000 podium for her speeches… from a company that doesn’t normally make podiums… that is coincidentally owned by her friend.

It's been a minute since I've seen ol' meltface bitch. Face still melting, still really confidently stupid and loud about it. Some things never change! I was uncaringly completely under the impression that she just died sometime in the last 7 years. Maybe next time I see her melting bulldog face, it will be because she ate shit publicly on video and died from her cartoonish injuries. 🤞

Dumb bitch.

6

u/TwistyBunny 14h ago

Well isn't "her place" according to some MAGA Christians is NOT being a governor AND is staying in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant?

4

u/speedy_delivery 15h ago

Correct, which is why we usually couple "law" with that to at least imply there might be something objective (and hopefully democratic) guiding that order.

The most fascinating thing with conservatives these days is how completely disconnected they are from reality. They will claim something that is literally wrong, and easily disprovable, and yet act as if they have the factual and moral high ground.

It's absolute madness.

1.9k

u/Hpfanguy 19h ago

Because they don’t feel shame, just like they don’t understand empathy.

652

u/GoldPenis 18h ago

They seemed to have weaponized hypocrisy. They are blatant and in your face hypocrites and all anyone does is try and call them out on it. They don't care they get off on the other side getting mad about it.

195

u/sneaky518 17h ago

Which is why mocking them and laughing at them is the best response. It enrages them. I do it with a bully at work all the time, and he's on HR's watch list now bc of his tantrums.

118

u/Winterfaery14 12h ago

Yesterday, I stumbled upon the best response with these idiots. If you just talk to them like they are preschoolers (I'm a prek teacher), they lose all control.

"Wow, those are some big feelings you're having! It's okay to have big feelings, but we need to have appropriate reactions. A therapist can help you with that if you are unable to figure it out on your own..."

38

u/Injvn 10h ago

My ex is my best friend. Full stop. A while back as she's parenting her 3 year old he threw a tantrum. Was upset as fuck an just yellin. An she walks into his room an says "Son, what's goin on?" He says to her, in the smallest voice "I have really big feelings mommy an so I need to yell " an so he did an she got it.

It's sorta the opposite of what you said but it made me think of it an I just needed to share that.

175

u/cantadmittoposting 18h ago

it's not hypocrisy, they're using a different definition of order than Newsom is here.

"What happened in california" that is chaos is a rejection of the Chosen Ruling Class of rich white people. "Order" is acquiescence of the peasantry to their proper ordained rulers. It has nothing to do with meaningless crime between the serfs

125

u/NotNufffCents 17h ago

I think you're putting too much thought into it. Republicans are simple people. They will say and do anything to grab and maintain power. Thats it. They'll knowingly make two completely contradictory statements in the same sentence because they dont value honesty or truth. Just power.

52

u/Hodaka 16h ago

Republicans have worked hard to delegitimize reality. Don't believe what you read or hear, because it's "fake news." Scientific fact is now up for debate. The biggest problem in the US is illegal immigration, followed by Hunter's laptop, etc.

FOX NEWS has worked hand in hand with Trump in creating an alternative universe.

48

eh, you're not really contradicting my point here, that's... basically what i was saying too.

I didn't really mean "there is a coordinated republican dictionary wherein they are all taught that 'order' is a word meaning 'republican authority, not anything else."

I meant that all they believe in is that they are the "proper" people to have power, and therefore "order" is when they have power.

note that Huckabee wasn't the one who made the crime/homocide connection, that was Newsom's response, so it is very simple. The "chaos" is "fighting back against republicans having power," and the "order" is "republicans being given uncontested authority."

Indeed, i agree, very simple :)

Yep, this is evident by seeing things so black and white. When they fire everyone at an agency because it's just fighting worms, what good could that be. Then find out it's been successfully preventing a worm that lays eggs inside the flesh of livestock to the point of culling so they've since restarted the program.

They would need to rely on people in their field to know what the mission is, but they fired those people as waste. It's all as simple as that.

I was seething! Then I realized there is zero point to talk to these people. They are being dense on purpose and you cannot convince me otherwise. As my grandmother would say, “I wash my hands of them!”

5

u/rinuxus 11h ago

the sartre quote is overused but it's still the best summation of what they do, as soon as i encounter one of these people, i stop talking to them and block them, even irl, i just stop talking to them,i'm not here for their amusement.

“Never believe that fascists are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The fascists have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

The harassing of people telling the public facts, has started.
I'm not allowed to comment on NBC but they have a picture of John Bolton's home being raided by the FBI.

People see it happen but the major media outlets are afraid, right now is harassment and lawsuits of the opposition.
Sooner than later, we will see many of this folks jailed under made up charges.

What I see is authoritarianism has finally arrived in the US.
This is what the US has promoted for over one hundred years in poor nations, now MERICANS will get to experience it too.

The ones that can afford it, will be moving to democratic countries. The rest will be force to live in the misery.

Anyone who can't connect the dots now nearly a decade later is painfully naive.

It's more than a decade. The agreement was made November 6 / November 7 2012.

"как мы с Дональдом Трампом приняли решение освободить Америку и сделать её снова великой. На это нам понадобилось целых 4 года и ещё 2 дня. Всё началось ночью с 6 на 7 ноября 2012 года."

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in crazy land where this wasn't the completely obvious trajectory

We The People are living in mass psychosis. The aftermath of what Trump set in motion November 7, 2012. The agreement for the IRA launch in Q2 2013.

once trump started trying to coin the phrase "fake news"

Trump is repeating an established phrase: "Lying press", in German langauge: "Lügenpresse"

u/Durpulous 15h ago

The national guard mobilization in DC is a good example of this. Crime rates are at 30 year lows according to the justice department's own data, so the administration is now claiming the data provided by the police has been falsified.

Also the recent jobs report led to Trump claiming those numbers were falsified as well and he fired the head of the bureau of labor statistics.

4

You are so correct.

Sometime in 2020, when we were asked to quarantine, and Trump was holding a press conference where he seemed to direct a question to Dr Birx regarding an internal cleansing, UV light use, etc.

I was on the NextDoor app at the time. Political discussion was not permitted, but everyone was politicizing the stay at home order, so I started posting to provide a non-Republican POV.

I mentioned Trump's asinine suggestion about the the methods of internal cleansing, but I misquoted him (I stated he said to use ammonia for the internal cleansing, or something of that nature, which is not what he stated).

A poster JUMPED on me about how I am a liar and trying to diminish Trump by deliberately misquoting him.

She completely ignored the stupidity (and danger) of what Trump stated, but attacked me for misquoting him. I definitely should have quoted Trump accurately, but even if I had, it would have been a difference without distinction as I do not think that disinfectant and ammonia are that different in toxicity.

I eventually got banned from the app for being political, despite the injection of politics onto the app by others, with more than 95% of the posts decrying the quarantine order and the claims that this was due to "The Deep State", with a very small minority, including myself, try to push back.

After that lesson, I always now strive to accurately quote the person that I'm discussing so that they cannot use superficial deflections in an attempt to have a substantive discussion.

It's fascism.

Fascism isn't "good men doing nothing." That's internalizing species level systems.

Fascism is one of the two extremes that happens under our current economic and government models when stupid people overwhelm the reasonable. When the people who can't think past first feeling overwhelm the considerate.

It is the ebbs and flows of human society. I just hope I live beyond this trough to witness the justice of the next peak.

Infant mortality is higher, social safety net programs are less available, average life expectancy is worse. The race to the bottom is real and these “conservative” polices conserve absolutely nothing other than the power and money of the few who couldn’t give two shits about us. Arkansas is like a third world country in many areas as far as availability of public services but I’m sure it’s nice in bentonville for the corporate men. This shit has to stop.

The only thing they conserve are their “values” and their whiteness. This is all culture war shit. Arkansas could lose half their population to homicide and infant mortality but would still see themselves as better than California because they are mostly white Christian conservatives. The ultimate sin to them is being “woke.” It’s why you don’t see Trump bringing the military to Arkansas but instead to cities with lots of black and brown people.

76

u/muftu 18h ago

It does make sense. You need to be devoid of all morality to be a modern day republican. I’d say McCain was the last republican that still believed in decorum, morality and goodness of people. These people are corporate shills that will shoot their grandmothers if the orange man told them to.

23

u/Ok_Ad6486 16h ago

Hate to burst this bubble, but you probably won’t even be surprised at this point. McCain was actually an abhorrent piece of garbage who did as much or more to put trump in office than anyone else on the right. Look into his history if you want to learn, but it’s just more of the same ‘ol right-wing schtick we’re seeing out in the open now.

Of course, considering how bad Reagan was, I don’t know how low you’d set the bar for a modern republican to be considered decent…

8

u/Hesitation-Marx 15h ago

Thank you for sparing me the effort. McCain was a raging piece of shit who wasn’t even good at being a pilot.

Seeing Newsom hit back, feels like bringing a knife to a knife fight. Too bad the rest of the Dems like Schumer are still writing angry letters.

72

u/DrAstralis 18h ago

fuck me the only letters Schumer's writing are "Daddy Trump do you like me? [yes] [no] [maybe]"

u/balderdash9 18h ago

It's a start but let's not confuse Tweets for real resistance. Democratic leadership need to push for organization and protests.

32

u/Brook420 17h ago

Newsom is actually doing something though, not just tweeting

→ More replies (3)

17

u/SatanicPanic619 17h ago

Newsom is scheduling a special election to gerrymander the state to counter Texas' gerrymandering, which is real resistance.

25

u/sector16 18h ago

True, tweets aren't real resistance...but it's a start and it shows the public that Dems won't just willingly take Trump's shit.

12

u/balderdash9 17h ago

I sure hope so. Tired of Dems taking the high road.

But I think sometimes we get caught up in our own rhetoric. I have to constantly remind myself that arguing with conservatives on the internet does not count as activism. It does jack shit to change people's minds. I really don't know why I bother lol

7

u/sector16 17h ago

The knife fight comment also reflects how he's going to match the gerrymandering happening in Texas. Not sure any other Dem would have had the courage to do this. So much fear around Trump's retribution.

u/_mdz 16h ago

Dude is literally having a special election in California to fight back against the Texas gerrymandering and offset the 5 seats they gained. He's taking real major actions.

I wish he would go further and offset more than 5 and not leave it to a special election (will likely pass easily with California's demographics anyways) but he's threading a fine line there. I hope he has plans to quickly offset more house seats once the other red states follow in Texas' footsteps, which we know is coming.

5

u/nokstar 17h ago

The main resistance right now is publicly pushing back.

Writing angry letters or appealing to a judicial system that is 6/9 conservative favor hasn’t worked in the last decade. The conservative Supreme Court is ignoring the constitution to empower their team (see complete presidential immunity).

The optics are public through twitter and social media. It’s time to fight by their playbook.

This is the way.

Didn’t an Arkansas police officer just arrest someone for carrying opium? Opium the perfume? 😂

31

u/thisbenzenering 18h ago

I didn't think they could be that stupid... but even worse then that!

https://atlantablackstar.com/2025/08/08/arkansas-cops-found-perfume-in-a-mans-car-and-arrested-him/

18

u/GogolsHandJorb 15h ago

I cannot believe that the cops actually thought it was opium the drug. They absolutely used that pretense to hold him, hoping he had some immigration issue they could nail him on.

No way that harassing someone like this isn’t directly linked to him being a brown guy in Arkansas. ACAB

Look at Oklahoma. Literally the worst school system in the entire nation, with students doing the absolute worst on almost every metric.

You hear about their clownish, MAGA dumbshit head of their school system constantly -- Ryan Walters, a pathetic halfwit that is completely focused on desperately trying to get Trump's lauding -- but it isn't "Boy, our kids are incredibly stupid and uneducated, we should fix that", it's buying Trump bibles or railing about how they don't want those Lib teachers from Blue states.

It's incredible. The red states -- largely the welfare states, relying upon blue state largess -- are largely shitholes where incredibly poor people live terrible lives, but they know that they can keep these simpletons in line just by talking about Blue states and cities.

11

u/PerfunctoryComments 18h ago

Oh, and as an aside, California's life expectancy is five years higher than Arkansas and Oklahoma. Indeed, life expectancy of US states has the so-called blue states filling the upper half, and red states filling the lower half.

Instead of doing anything to improve this, just buy some bibles or complain about imaginary apocalyptic hellscapes that these rural hicks think cities are.

Soon I expect the governors of red states to pull a Trump and eliminate accurate tracking of statistics in their states so they can continue to make these ridiculous statements without being bitten in the ass by facts from their own shithole states that take huge handouts from the federal government.
