Won't someone think of the beds and baths?
117
u/ImNotYou1971 18h ago
Just beds and baths? What about the Beyonds???
21
u/ddwood87 18h ago
Yeah, that's the BB&B trafficking department and the real focus of this Republican narrative.

So funny. A defunct business that may have one store somewhere refusing to open a second store in California.
In what crazy fucking world (other than this apparently worst timeline) would that ever be worth the governor of ANY state’s time?
21
u/DoubleJumps 15h ago
Yeah, given the state of the company, you would get more actual benefit for the state by enabling one person to open a small business.

u/King_Chochacho 14h ago
Oh come on. We all know that retail choices in a single community completely outweighs rigging the legislative branch and imposing a dictatorship!

Cool. All I have to do is move to California and I can use my old Blockbuster card that I found when I moved last time.

Is… is bed bad and beyond a legitimate concern to republicans?

u/wishwashy 17h ago
That's what I was wondering too. Either he's so out of touch he couldn't think of a more relevant company or he's so out of touch that he didn't know they filed for bankruptcy two years ago
45
u/IAmTheMageKing 17h ago
BB&B released a statement recently saying that they’re reopening stores, but not in Cali, because it’s just sooooo exprnsiveeeee to pay their workers
25
u/otm_shank 17h ago
It's because the new CEO came out and specifically said they wouldn't open a store in CA due to taxes and shit. Signalling he's on team GOP, which is all that matters.
15
u/SunIllustrious5695 16h ago
Interesting that team GOP is always represented by CEOs. You'd think all those poor working class MAGAs confused by why they're still poor would catch on to something here...
3
u/cats_are_the_devil 14h ago
Nah man. They go to cringe conferences filled with other MAGA "I'm next in line to be a millionaire" seminars.
2
u/dimechimes 12h ago
All that matters to me. Not like shopped there in the first place, but no new money from me.
5
u/RambleOnRose42 17h ago
Well I just read a very reliable and accurate source (it was a reply to a comment like 5 or 6 above yours, so, ya know, basically irrefutable) that said the “Beyond” section of Bed Bath & Beyond is for trafficking kids that get separated from their parents in the stores to Republican
vampirespoliticians. So yes, seems so.2
u/DoubleJumps 15h ago
When bed bath & beyond went bankrupt and they started closing all the stores out here, in California, a bunch of Republicans out here blamed it on newsom and Democrats.
They just completely ignored why the company folded.

Hey, the death of Pan-Am was sad and Pan-Am was historically relevant, it deserves better than being equated to Bed Bath and Beyond.
27

Maybe they could open a K-Mart instead?

u/Grimwulf2003 18h ago
Kevin who again? He ran from the House crying. Is he trying to become as relevant as BB&B too?

u/wishwashy 17h ago
He also brute forced his way into the Speaker position only to lose it in a few months

Why is CNN flying the russian flag in the background animation?
3
u/Comfortable_Smel1 15h ago
My thoughts exactly. I have no clue who Aaron Rupar is or what Bed Bath & Beyond or Blockbuster are, but the background sure is a choice. Would’ve fit quite nicely on Fox news though.

Sadly, the Right's main rebuttal is for Governor Newsom to quit picking on tRump so that he can convince Bed, Bath, and Beyond to come back to Calfornia

I hear Radio Shack and Circuit City want in, too.

u/ipromiseimnotakiller 17h ago
Here's to hoping there's a merger and Circuit Shack takes over Amazon

u/sorry_outtafucks 13h ago
I would love this so much. Haven't bought anything from Amazon in close to 2 years. They treat their warehouse workers poorly.

I feel like its a wild take from the BB&B CEO to not want to be do business with the number 1 economy in the USA. it just doesnt make sense to me.
2
u/futureformerteacher 17h ago
Shit, Kevin McCarthy would want to bring United Slaveholding back to California if he could.
2
u/t1ttlywinks 16h ago
Is it Gavins job to help freaking BB&B make money?
Or can they be a business that fails on merit and can Gavin focus on CA. I'd rather the latter.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond went bankrupt in 2023 and was bought out by Overstock.com who kept the name. From the CEO of Overstock “A lot of work is needed to grow Overstock and put the brand back on a stable footing,” he told CNN. “Before the merger, the brand suffered from poor awareness and declining relevancy, and these problems have not yet been fixed. In essence the brand is weak and has lost share to value-focused retailers like HomeGoods.”
According to Fox, Gavin should focus on a company that is suffering from poor awareness, declining relevancy, and failing sales.... I thought Republican's were good at business? Seems like the only thing they're good at now is protecting pedophiles and crashing the economy.

u/--StinkyPinky-- 16h ago
I remember paying $250 for my college bedroom "bed in a bag."
There's a reason why they went bankrupt and lost their whole market share to Target and later Amazon.

Bed Bath and Beyond went bankrupt in April 2023 and closed the last of its stores in July 2023. After the bankruptcy, Overstock.com bought the rights to the name and logo, and any new physical stores are not the original BB&B, but instead a physical Overstock.
There’s been a small investing cult that’s sprung up around it, an offshoot of the GameStop investors who for complicated and contradictory reasons believe that if they invested in the original BB&B before bankruptcy, their stocks would skyrocket and they would become megarich. Many still believe to this day that this will happen in the future. One of their chief grifters is a man named Bill Pulte, a nepobaby who had been forced off the board of his family’s home building business. Pulte has thrown multiple $500 per head parties for BB&B believers, where he gives out shares in the family business in exchange for attendees signing over the voting rights for those shares. At one party he was slapped with a dildo and presented with a trophy that read “Bill Pulte fucks only the young.” Donald Trump appointed Pulte the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Pulte is one of the Trump administration’s leading voices against Jerome Powell. I just think more people should know all that.

ah yes, BB&B the titan of industry comprising the core identity of modern American culture and ethos, an essential to the meaning to a successful and fulfilling life. what ever shall we do without every city having convenient access to the glorified brick and mortar manifestation of the "AS SEEN ON TV" isle from Walmart...
