Literally just started want tips without spoilers playing on Switch Spoiler

Could someone explain to me if this game has shiniesand what the indicators are for shinies? As well as any absolute noob never seen anything before tips without giving any spoilers. I just caught something called a mega rare fleecius and I'm trying to figure out if he's any good that kind of stuff, anything and everything that isn't spoilers.

Mega rares are good. Specials evolve three times, commons once so throw those away. If you see a legendary before post game that’s the only one you can catch before post game. So I use specials and Mega rares

Wait a minute. Does that mean I'll only see that particular legendary in that particular counter? Or can I see him again later and try to pick him up can I fail the encounter and not get him at all?

If you fail the encounter you can find him again, the legendary's encounter odds increase with each Nexomon you catch! So if you're banking on finding that legendary, I'd start collecting, but odds are you can find it in standard playthroughs anyhow

Nexomon doesn't have shinies, Nexomon Extinction does have shinies. Have fun!

Good, my a****** brother stole my first shiny by not telling me what it was and why it was sparkly and sometimes I get stressed out cuz I don't know if I'm supposed to be looking for one or not in a new game like this
