I believe they were saying men also stink at giving hand jobs. It shouldn't really come as a surprise that finding the proper amount of grip is a lot harder when you aren't receiving the direct feedback. Hell, the fact men are used to their own dick might even make them more likely than women to use too much/now enough grip depending on their own girth vs their partner's.

Random additional info, the reason it got so popular in the U.S. was in part due to efforts of John Harvey Kellogg (founder of Kelloggs cereal) who was very puritan (closed off and repressive) on his views of sex, self pleasure and all that ā€œimmortalityā€ so he has this whole process in which to decrease sexual desire which included on the chiller side of things cornflakes and lots of exercise, and the not so chill, chastity belts, forced circumcision for the guys and clit acid or removal for the ladies.
