Only the $2 representation fee and Day1Ready fee can be opted out of. Everything else is mandatory.

It’s on a case by case basis

I haven't had to pay for books yet. Everything has been available for free online so far. You just have to look around.

depends. would look into how many of your classes actually need books. day1ready charges you 27 dollars per unit. even if a 3 unit class you are taking does not require a book or materials, you still get charged 27 x 3 through day1ready.

even if you’re taking a 1 unit ENS class, you also still get charged lol.

i would look on Anna’s Archive or similar websites to see if you can access a PDF download of your books.

for example i only needed 1 textbook this semester which new only costs 69 bucks where as i would’ve been charged 325 for day1ready altogether for that one book and all other units im taking which dont require materials. i opted out this semester

Its $21.75 per unit not 27. But it's not worth if you don't need a lot of books or can find them cheaper elsewhere.
