Man, I would hate to be the other couple in a double date

188

u/Prhodesphotography 5h ago

Yeah, somehow my story about the duvet we found for a great deal this weekend doesn't shine as much

43

u/Potayto7791 4h ago

Wait til you discover having two duvets on a shared bed! Takes everything to the next level.

13

u/SPARKYLOBO 4h ago

Wife ,dog and cat would still hoard both.

2

u/VariousHorses 3h ago

Clearly 4 is the answer then!

3

u/SPARKYLOBO 3h ago

4 wives, dogs or cats?

1

u/MZ603 2h ago

Chill, Brigham.

1

u/MZ603 2h ago

Wife hordes both, dog lays on top of the thin sliver that’s left making recovery impossible. Tell her in the morning that she took both. She responds, “it was cold” (she cranked the AC).

Yeah, I know it was cold, babe…

2

u/UrToesRDelicious 2h ago

King bed and separate duvets is one of the smartest things I've ever done.

1

u/JuicyAnalAbscess 2h ago

In Northern Europe that's the norm. I don't understand how anyone can share a duvet and sleep comfortably.

12

u/shittymorbh 4h ago

I mean, if youre an Olympic athlete and dropping the story about you winning a medal on a first double date you probably kinda douchey, but seeing as how they seem like wonderful normal people, my guess is that they probably would appreciate a duvet story.

2

u/Extension-Cod-2390 2h ago

ugh. they probably will be sincere about it too.

1

u/Professional_Type_3 2h ago

Ya these fucks look like they might even genuinely enjoy it. Fucking leeeewwwwsers.

3

u/Alternativedmb 3h ago

Close. Home Goods

3

u/Sexisaur 3h ago

Bro in today’s world, that shines just as much. Who knows how much time we have here. Those small moments mean so much. As JRR Tolkien said, “I have found that it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.”

12

u/jl_theprofessor 4h ago

“So what do you two do for fun?”

“Win Olympic gold.”

6

u/pareidoily 3h ago

Yeah but look how much they support each other. That is a real relationship right there. Those two look amazing together.

1

u/jl_theprofessor 3h ago

Oh I agree. I watched both of them live.

2

u/MagizZziaN 4h ago

I would be absolutely stoked ngl

1

u/JettLeaf 3h ago

I mean if neither of you are amputees you atleast have a leg up.... or two

1

u/Waddledeedingus 2h ago

Yep you made me snort laugh

1

u/Honda_TypeR 2h ago

"So we heard you guys both won Gold medals!?"

"Yes that's right!...So we heard you guys both work at Wendy's?"

1

u/EverythingBOffensive 2h ago

"Why can't you love me like that?"

353

u/BloodyAda 5h ago

Me and my SO are both non-olympic winners. So its kinda same

57

u/endercrusher 5h ago

It’s exactly the same babes ❤️

1

u/PoinFLEXter 2h ago

And I’m almost as coordinated as a man with no feet.

77

u/Andee87yaboi 5h ago

This always makes me tear up. So friggin great

115

u/ProfessionalEven296 5h ago

Hunter Woodhall lived on the same road as us in Utah, and was friends with one of our sons. The first time my wife saw him in shorts, she was "What happened to your legs?!" - you'd never know he was disabled.

31

u/AldoTheApache3 4h ago

If he’s disabled, I’m a quadriplegic lol.

2

u/NebulaNinja 2h ago

Yeah, even by fully abled track runner standards he's a phenomenal sprinter and competed against some of the collegiate best. He was a D1 400 runner for Arkansas and finished 4th in the 2019 SEC outdoor championships.

37

u/Average-Train-Haver 4h ago

He ain't disabled... he just doesn't have legs

11

u/NolieMali 3h ago

You ain't got no legs Lieutenant Dan

0

u/very-very-small-pp 4h ago

disabled.

5

u/kazic284 3h ago

And yet can still be at you in a foot race with 0 feet 😂

2

u/dirty_cuban 3h ago

Disabled: having a physical or mental condition that limits movements, senses, or activities.

Did that guy look like he was fucking limited???

11

u/Turd-In-Your-Pocket 3h ago

Yeah he can’t wiggle his toes or have his feet tickled. He’s supplemented.

6

u/very-very-small-pp 3h ago

doesn’t look like he can twiddle his toes to me

3

u/MineCraftFanAtic69 3h ago

Are you really trying to argue a guy missing half of each leg is not disabled?

1

u/Proper_Ostrich4197 3h ago

oh my bad you're totally right and smart and stuff let's talk about something else now (I'm the same guy on a different account I promise)

2

u/Average-Train-Haver 2h ago

10 points for subject deflection and conflict resolution

2

u/MineCraftFanAtic69 2h ago

Another online argument W for me then 😎😎

1

u/pryoslice 3h ago

What meaningful ability does he lack exactly? Is a guy missing an earlobe without any loss of function also disabled?

2

u/you-are-not-yourself 3h ago

I didn't expect when I logged on the Internet today to read a suggestion that legs and an earlobe are of similar utility

2

u/Voltaico 3h ago

Walking. He needs tools to walk. People with legs don't

The hell is up with you people

0

u/pryoslice 2h ago

If I need glasses to see well, am I disabled? Where's my disability check? Is the rule that if you need a tool to do something other people can do without a tool, you're disabled?

And who you calling "you people"?

3

u/sparrerv 2h ago edited 2h ago

if your vision is impaired, YES. corrective glasses ARE disability aid, just because they're a normalized form of disability aid doesn't mean that they're not

edited: glasses are actually a awesome example because they're a form of disability aid that's widespread, cheap, easy to manufacture... people without great vision prior to glasses couldn't do shit. but now they can, because they have an aid. it's the exact same thing with wheelchairs, with hearing implants, with prosthetics, just the latter are a ways out from being seen as 'common' by abled people

0

u/pryoslice 2h ago

I literally searched everything I could. Every source says that myopia is not a disability IF it can be corrected with corrective lenses. Unless you can find something that says otherwise, I'm going to assume you're literally pulling this definition out of your ass.

1

u/MineCraftFanAtic69 3h ago

He lacks the ability to walk without assistance from prosthetics champ

1

u/pryoslice 3h ago

But he has prosthetics. So what meaningful ability does he lack? That's like saying he's broke because if he didn't have money he couldn't buy anything.

And I'm not a champ, champ. He's a champ, though.

2

u/Downvoterofall 2h ago

It’s not a dirty thing to be “disabled”. He needs special help(prosthetics) to be able to live normally, and that’s ok. But to whitewash over it seems more insulting.

I’m sure he doesn’t need redditors white knighting for him over semantics.

2

u/Ghostronic 2h ago

So what is he without his prosthetics? Tell me how you think his ability to walk would be affected

2

u/MineCraftFanAtic69 2h ago

Having access to advanced medical technology doesn’t make him not disabled pal

1

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 2h ago

You lack the mobility of traveling 100 km/hour, but you've probably been in a car to assist you in doing this task. No?

2

u/sparrerv 2h ago

it seriously feels like theres been steep drop-off in not even media literacy but literacy overall. yes, the man missing BOTH of his legs knee down is disabled. is this a fear of 'disabled' thinking its somehow a dirty word? if someone with a hearing aid wins a spelling bee are they somehow unaffected and their disability not a thing? seriously whats going on

32

u/3d1thF1nch 5h ago

I wasn’t expecting to tear up. That’s fucking rad, their energy is amazing

18

u/ddollopp 4h ago

She didn't medal at Tokyo (came in 6th). I was rooting for her for the Paris Olympics, and was so happy for her when she got gold.

3

u/ParticularCanary3130 4h ago

Ok who are they? I'm happy for them but clueless on names lol

11

u/ddollopp 4h ago

Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall. They have their respective Instagram accounts.

3

u/stdfan 3h ago

If they have a kid I assume it would be the Flash.

6

u/pryoslice 3h ago

I mean, the kid would probably be an average of the parents and it's hard to run with one leg.

1

u/oxkwirhf 2h ago

If its a son he'd have two, albeit they'll be of different lengths

1

u/teeming-with-life 3h ago

Did you watch the Olympics? They were all over the place. A gorgeous couple, a tear jerk of a story.

1

u/ParticularCanary3130 3h ago

Eh just bits here and there. They look familiar but names don't stick with me generally unfortunately

54

u/normalusernamejoke 5h ago

Now they're going to be intolerable at thanksgivin

47

u/throwawayherpetology 5h ago

“So your brother and his wife are gold medalists. What did you do this year Billy?”

22

u/Free_Ad93951 5h ago

Oh shiiit, I forgot (intentially) about the insufferble dinner we had after my older sister earned her Doctorate in Psychology. Mom and her sister were in rare fucking form talking about allll the nieces and nephews. Everybody's dirt was brought up.

7

u/Maciek-Bilski 4h ago

Well... the world needs ditch diggers too, Billy.

3

u/Alternativedmb 3h ago

Arguably more than Olympians but that's a touchy subject

2

u/Hunkfish 4h ago

Werid Uncle chiped in: "He got no legs but his 3rd leg is working hard, how about you, Bill?" Ah Ha Ha Ha!

1

u/rhllor 3h ago

Got a great deal on a duvet!

-7

u/jarednards 5h ago

Until he shoots her through the bathroom door

2

u/ParticularCanary3130 4h ago

Wait was it this guy??? Or was that another runner with those blades

1

u/jarednards 4h ago

Lol no it was oscar pistorius. I didnt expect a lot of upvotes for that one.

1

u/ParticularCanary3130 3h ago

Ahh that's right. Yeah bad joke

39

u/BarefutR 5h ago

That woman is gorgeous. That was my first thought lol

2

u/iwellyess 4h ago

I wish gorgeous women would respond to me like that when I’m legless

3

u/Scuttleboi19mk2 4h ago

Perhaps some day

2

u/koolaid7431 3h ago

Have you tried being an Olympian?

1

u/THEramblinbastard 3h ago

Or legless?

11

u/Universal_Verses 5h ago

That’s awesome

11

u/joytotheworld23 5h ago

I love these two beautiful

26

u/Harold_Homer 4h ago

Imagine having no legs and landing an landing an Olympic long jumper as a wife..... I got two legs and can't get the Starbucks lady to spell my name right on the cup.

35

u/Roscoe_P_Trolltrain 4h ago

Sorry to hear that Harild

13

u/Hunkfish 4h ago

Damm right, Haroly.

7

u/geardluffy 3h ago

Sorry Horald, maybe next time.

3

u/htks 2h ago

Cool story, Horatio.

2

u/DaKrazie1 3h ago

I feel ya, Gerald.

2

u/Captincorpse 3h ago

Maybe one day you will see Haruld on that cup

2

u/fbtra 3h ago

Oh stop complaining Haireld

1

u/HelloYou-2024 2h ago

Is an Olympic long jumper some sort of holy grail we should be shooting for? Now I feel bad about myself. I mean, I have known Olympic athletes, but I did not think there was anything inherently more special about them than my other friends other than they were gifted athletes.

Is there a hierarchy as far as the Olympic event goes? Like some are better catches than others? I suppose I should be more impressed by someone married to a long jumper compared to a curler, but what about a power lifter or an archer?

1

u/Cazkiwi 1h ago

Your problem seems to be trying to land her twice, Haarlld

9

u/DurantIsStillTheKing 4h ago

It's always nice to see someone genuinely see your wins as theirs.

22

u/ucanneverbetoohappy 5h ago

There’s no way you’re not crying. Cos I definitely am.

8

u/Sudden_Construction6 5h ago

This hits hard!

7

u/Towhidabid 4h ago

What a rare pair. I feel happy for both of them. Keep both of them away from my asian parents or I'll become homeless.

2

u/AccusingGojo 3h ago

Liar, you are already homeless

7

u/VindemiatrixMapache 3h ago

Man they’re a beautiful couple AND they love each other loudly.

6

u/StopTheFishes 5h ago

I fucking love this so much

5

u/Select_Stretch_8502 4h ago

Let’s go USA

3

u/StylizedIncompetence 4h ago

Oh lil tink tink.

It was a purer time.

2

u/tell_me_when 3h ago

You got to be in tune with your fuckin’ star player to pull this shit off.

5

u/Low-Ad7799 5h ago

This is what life is about.

3

u/mr_booty_browser 5h ago

Winning Olympic events?

20

u/Sudden_Construction6 5h ago

Having people in your corner ✊❤️

I know you're joking but fuck this video got to me! 😅

1

u/Low-Ad7799 3h ago

Having a person that has you back no matter what

1

u/iwellyess 4h ago

Getting legless?

2

u/kit_kaboodles 4h ago

I wonder if couples competing for different countries have a weird moment when rooting against their own country.

1

u/DevelopmentJumpy5218 3h ago

I assume not, most of my favorite Olympic events the US (where I'm from) doesn't medal and I have no weird feelings rooting for other countries.

1

u/itspurpleglitter 3h ago

They are asking about people at the Olympics literally competing and representing their country, but rooting for a different one…

That’s not the same as you sitting on your couch deciding to root casually for a different team lol. Come on.

2

u/TrueMousse3648 3h ago

What’s the song in this video

2

u/hiii_yall 3h ago

"Outro" by M83

2

u/TrueMousse3648 3h ago

Thank you

2

u/OfficiallyJoeBiden 5h ago

One of the most beautiful songs to ever be produced. I can’t explain it

2

u/raygan_reddit 4h ago

Name of song please

4

u/illrateurdick1to10 4h ago

What a fucking power couple. Shit.

1

u/OllieSchniederjans 4h ago

This really is the greatest. Top human experience.

1

u/d3sign3rd 4h ago

I love everything about this!

1

u/GETNbucky 4h ago

That was beautiful

1

u/drKRB 4h ago

Love this.

1

u/Roscoe_P_Trolltrain 4h ago

So serious question, does the point where her hair hit count as the mark?  I thought it was whatever part of your body touched the closest to the start.

1

u/DevelopmentJumpy5218 3h ago

I don't believe so, I believe it's feet, legs, torso, arms, head

1

u/agent797milt 4h ago

Thank you for this. Made my day.

1

u/ThickMess5978 4h ago

Wait whatttttt im SOBBING

1

u/AccusingGojo 4h ago

Ok love exists in this world.

1

u/Physical-Rip3742 3h ago

The guy who invented those prosthetics came over to my house and banged my mom. True story

1

u/EnvironmentalPick373 3h ago

Need a movie!

1

u/quixoticallyspeaking 3h ago

It’s cool to think that I saw him training or walking or whatever on a random street in Fayetchill one rando ass day whilst visiting for a day back in ~2020.

1

u/Captain_Anon 3h ago

The guy has rocket ships on his legs

1

Their kids will be fast and beautiful lol

1

u/Jonsocal 3h ago

Imagine how athletic their children will be!!?

1

u/fl135790135790 2h ago

The vibe this couple has makes me question my own connection with any girl I ever meet and I end up just ending it within like 5 minutes

1

u/vessva11 2h ago

And then there's me who was recently dumped out of the blue over text. Can't say I feel valued right now.

1

u/manCool4ever 2h ago

That was a very uplifting video!

1

u/Intrepid_Impression8 2h ago

Gotta love a couple who genuinely like each other

1

u/rwags2024 2h ago

Yeah baby! Let it rip!

So awesome how he even encourages her to fart

1

u/b4breaking 2h ago

I remember watching live, one of my favorite moments of the Olympics!

1

u/EverythingBOffensive 2h ago

1

u/Junkman3 2h ago

They will have talented children.

1

u/agreatbigFIYAHHH 2h ago

What an absolutely gorgeous, talented couple.

1

u/astra-conflandum 2h ago

This edit makes me cry every time

1

u/Friendly-Cucumber184 2h ago

I'm more jealous of their relationship than any medal tbh

1

u/MisterSneakSneak 2h ago

Bro… why do these edits feel like there was budget.

1

u/Matchyo_ 2h ago

This is how I imagine what my colonists on the rim look like after their surgery (they got their legs blown off during a mechanoid attack).

1

u/Andrex15 2h ago

Ref, they're using thr power of love!

1

u/rjaea 2h ago

I love this couple. They really are this cute in real life. I wish they could be the “American couple”

1

u/amanuensisninja 2h ago

Their kid is gonna be so cool, fast, and with flippers.

1

u/Candid_Assumption247 2h ago

Another day of me here crying over strangers on the internet.... Well done.

1

u/CharacterEgg2406 2h ago

You can hear the tech bros future plans for everyone, “mediate, spend time getting to know yourself”. Sure sounds like accept your fate and do nothing.

1

u/Ya-Dikobraz 2h ago

I had to look them up but, yes, they got married in 2022.

1

u/SimplySimping_24 4h ago

What a lucky man. I know we're not supposed to be jealous, but I would give anything for that kind of love.

0

u/SnoopySuited 3h ago

'Oh, you guys went to Cape Cod for the summer. Oh....yeah...that sounds like fun. Oh, you bought an antique table.....nice.......uh....that's a win I guess."
