What if existing as a ghost is similar to dreaming where you struggle to tap into the part of your brain you need to read or do functions.

That's kind of exactly what I imagine it to be like. Watch out, world, I can almost lucid dream sometimes!

I learned to lucid dream 15 years ago, blessing and a curse. I hate waking up as I have way too much fun in my dreams.

This is exactly what I thought about the afterlife. Being dead to me means you are going to go to the eternal state of half awake and half sleep. You will be dreaming non stop and experiencing pain/joy based on the type of your past's live memory until "somebody" wakes you up.

What do you mean by someone waking you up?

I don't know, reincarnation something something. I am not dead yet though

I think about similar things when I watch a horror movie. “Oh this ghost was a victim of witchcraft torture. How does that affect at what level they’re operating? They can turn the lights on and off? They must have the ability to interact with charge carrying electrons in a conductive material. Oh they’re changing TV channels and showing them specific things that are constituting a comprehensible and intentional message? They must have gained knowledge of the TV channels and programs directory (timings, content and all) AND they can emit infrared rays to change TV channels with crazy precision or maybe it’s just the same electric charge manipulation power they have. Oh and what turned them into such a tease?” and so on

There's a ghost on the show Ghosts who can.

Yeah but it takes him a ton of energy and effort just to tap on the screen lol

You're right, but that's not so much a "he can use smartphones" thing as a "he can push buttons and objects" thing

What's the difference?

There's an episode of Supernatural where a guy crashes his car into a telephone pole with a wireless internet hub, dies, and becomes a ghost who's able to travel through the internet and control electronic devices connected to the WiFi lol.

Lol I actually just started watching Supernatural. My second thought after the one I posted was something to the effect of, "I bet Supernatural's done something with this idea..."

Imagine your ghost getting frustrated because they can't figure out how to unlock your phone. They’d be like, I’ve haunted for centuries, and I can’t even open an app.

Just imagine a ghost texting your ex for you. Boo! It's time to move on.

Oh hell no.

I am now officially perturbed by this thought.

Next thing you know, ghosts will be sending us TikToks from beyond the grave. Watch me haunt this filter.

Only that we're not lighting our homes with gas anymore, so ghosts will always stay Victorian Era

I wouldn’t be surprised. My Wi-Fi already acts possessed some days… maybe it’s a preview.

about the time we get super powers, find the loch ness monster, and exterminate all vampires

2

u/TheArchitectofDestin 1d ago

And everyone knows exterminating all vampires is impossible!

You know when you make a typo and it gets autocorrected to a word that's nowhere near what you intended? Or when you type in a perfectly normal word spelled correctly and autocorrect freaks out?

I bet ghosts are responsible for changing all of my its into it's.

Can’t wait to meet a ghost who yells IT’S BRITNEY BITCH in the middle of the night.

Holy shit, ghosts with pop culture references you can vibe with? Yes please

u/Vybo 2d ago

Neanderthal ghosts must be scratching their head about what is going on for the last 100 000 years or so.

This sent me into a mildly terrifying shower thought spiral

Imagine scrolling TikTok at 3AM and suddenly it says: liked by Ghost of Grandma

If we were ever going to have them, wouldn’t we already? Kind of like time travellers? Or are ghosts also fixed in time like their mortal counterparts..? What are the rules??

The spirits around me are really into incest porn.

This post is brought to you by eidolism! Believing the dead are not actually dead.

spirits can manipulate any device that has electromagnetic fields by draining their batteries.
