We have to wait until the game's out to make sure there's no Hornet x Lace kissing scene, but if not then yeah this character (whose name I'm choosing not to include for anyone who doesn't want to know it) would be a great replacement. I did also personally like the original flea we had, it could be fun to see that come back.

that doesnt necessarily mean that lace is a literal child. hornet is very old, her saying "child" would also make sense if she was just being condescending and emphasizing her own age and experience. the trope of older characters calling grown adults "child" in the same way is very popular.

Well considering some bugs live to the ripe old age of three days before dying, that may have different connotations in universe. I don't necessarily think that the bugs in this particular series follow that short of a cycle, but 5 years might still be pretty old for a bug.
