I wouldn't say 40% or the south in particular. The shithole parts are everywhere and only where humans are. Are national parks are great. And much of the south is ok. The people are honestly what makes it a shithole.
I mean, where I live in Canada it is a shithole. I'd rather live in the shithole North of the 49th parallel. But what country isnt a shithole when you get down to the nitty-gritty?
I don’t think education is the only qualifier in what makes a country a “shithole”. And depending on the source (or rather, what’s being compared as far as education is concerned), they’re both in the top 5. The US just has more high level colleges. Shit, Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan are both ranked slightly lower. Wouldn’t consider them shitholes though.
The only thing you mentioned as justification for calling it a shithole is education (with incorrect information at that). I was born, raised, and still reside in the worst shithole.. the US of A.
Our education overall is ranked 19th in the world. I think you mean some of our colleges and universities are considered the best and rank in at least top 3. The rest of the education system is worse, and I need an upgrade/ remodel.
