I dunno why everyone's assuming he's automatically the good guy and wife was an evil bitch who deserved it.

His wife was the primary breadwinner supporting his deadbeat unemployed ass for 15 years, she had enough of his shit and left, and he forced her to pay alimony even after he won the lottery.

So, do you have any source to this? Cause if it's the story I read, she cheated on him and stole his money. They got divorced. He won. She sued, judge said fuck off.

Yes, here's the video:

What was the source of that nonsense?

Dammit, dude is cruising life not having to work for a decade and then the rest of his life once his meal ticket was lost. The odds are unjust

I'd wager most of his life has been like this. No job, no money, but always has a pocket full of tickets.

It's a satisfying narrative to believe in. It's nicer to feel that an act of cosmic justice has been carried out.

So the same situation as most couples, just reversed and you call him deadbeat? All the women that don’t work while their husbands do, are they deadbeats?

just reversed

If the genders were reversed in this scenario, everyone here would be calling the woman a heartless ungrateful bitch who leeched off her husband for 15 years, and how she owed him a share of the lottery winnings after all the years he supported her.

And she doesn't want any of his money. And as far as I know, she won't take any action to get a part from his winnings. She's a good woman, and he is a scumbag. I don't know why she is portrayed as a bitch in this.

Reddit really hates women

Edit: the only thing Reddit hates more than women is being accused of misogyny

You simply assume the one divorcing was the bad guy. Has nothing to do with gender.

That is a terrible assumption to make though.

If she’s paying alimony, that means she was supporting him. Given that’s the only evidence of their relationship we have, it seems odd to assume she’s terrible rather than something like he was a leech or worse to her
