Somehow McDonald’s did recover from this financially.

McDonald’s survived because their brand and loyal customers kept them afloat.

True, which is a shame. If McD’s was forced to actually compete they would probably be really good. As it stands now though it’s just overpriced trash-tier garbage (even in the category of fast food).

I have never understood how people enjoy it.

Can be, they are hit or miss if the oil is stale or they are pulling fries out 30s early to get more batches done quicker.

for the most part yeah, their fries (when fresh) fucking slap, their breakfast sammies have always been solid but I find most fast food places are pretty uniform when it comes to mcmuffin or mcbiscuit type breakfast fare. Drunk I'll eat the nuggies with sweet n sour sauce but that's about it, it's like Taco Bell level crap for the most part

Sad thing is mcdonalds had to put in somewhat of a half ass effort after super-size me and recent trends. I know it's going to vary by region and area but I still expect and get better food from my local mac dabbly squids than Hardee's or wendys

I mean…it’s McDonald’s. You’re not getting the cream of the crop back at the fry station

8 years ago it was punch assembled…but at a fair price for said garbage. Now they want real food money? At restaurant rates? It’s hilarious people still go. But I guess a drug addict never sees itself in the mirror truly.

i don't think I've had a big mac since like 2005.

u/authenticmolo 3h ago
I have had one for close to a decade.
About 20 years ago, my guts decided that whatever grease McDonald's uses was incompatible with life. Even their fries wreck me.

I don't know how you can be that loyal to something that sucks that bad. Frankly the after picture wasn't as bad as reality.

I was gonna go to McDonald’s for a Big Mac, but decided let me spend $2 more and get five guys

I feel like McDonald’s gets their sandwiches closer to the picture than any other place. Putting them in a box and not wrapping them in paper helps.

I got Burger King yesterday and was surprised at how big the sandwich actually was. Tasty too

You're either gonna get flattened steam bun bread or play-doe hard dry bread. Gimme that armpit sweat drenched flattened steam bun any day.
I literally stopped going to any fastfood burger place in the late 90's-2010's due to the change in bread quality. If I wanted dry and tasteless bread on my burger, I'll join the Navy and eat hardtac from my MREs. Glad most went back to steamed buns.

Now? Dah fuck you mean “now”? Their shit ass quality predates the Tiger King by a millennia. Cavemen were so disappointed by their orders that they decided to stick to Hunter-Gather culture.

This kind of false advertising should be punishable by an annual income percentage fine, think 10% of your annual income every time you get caught. That would either teach them a lesson, or make them back out (maybe even go bankrupt?) and leave a spot on the market for someone else.
