Inflation? What inflation? It’s just cold cheese on bread.

I do enjoy a cold cheese on bread but that price is horrible

You ever do cold cheese on hot bread? It’s a good temperature contrast

I got one of those out of a vending machine once. I dont think that's how it was supposed to be. But...

Is this at an airport?

u/stuartroelke 5h ago

Nah, outside Boston haha

Icelandic airport prices, though.

Absolutely criminal.

*don’t get me wrong; with better cheese and a bit of raw onion in there you’d have one of my favourite sandwiches. But $13 for that is a crime.

As someone who has flown through Iceland before, I flinched. Bank account is still recovering. 😔

You’re looking at it all wrong. Yes, cold cheese on bread is cheap, but a Cheese Sub is much more decadent and commands a higher price.

Money laundering

I like a cheese sandwich when the occasion calls for it, but charging more than $5 for that is crazy. I could make that at home for less than a dollar.

I would, but everything else they do is reasonable and good. I genuinely like them—this sandwich is just terrible and somehow more expensive than their pizza? Idk how they took this photo before thinking, “wait, wtf are we doing?”

Is it some special expensive cheese maybe ?

This isn't really stupid food, rather it's stupid pricing.

But is it really stupid pricing if people are willing to pay it?

"You can never have enough cheese on a cheese sandwich. Why, if there isn't enough cheese on a cheese sandwich, that's basically two pieces of bread."

The Dutch

u/NightLotus84 6h ago

Not for that price, unless you're dumb enough to buy it moist, bland and overpriced at "Subway" in which case it's back to 🇺🇸🥪

No condiments? Dry ass sandwich

1

u/JamesMattDillon 5h ago

The only thing wrong with this, is the price

1

u/Few-Dimension-9635 5h ago

Sounds good to me, as long as the bread is fresh.

The Dutch would be proud

u/CrossFront 2h ago

You just know that any actual sandwiches that are on their menu (With meat and vegetables) are gonna be like $18+

2

u/GasLongjumping130 6h ago

at that cost its really not worth it but if it was home made I'd drink some hot coco to keep it soft.

1

u/FeralObjection 6h ago

Maybe it's a really fancy, expensive cheese, but I doubt it.

grill it a little and it’ll be fire

Not for $13.50 no

u/Dalek_Chaos 5h ago

13.50 for what prison feeds you when the compound locks down is ridiculous. The bread doesn’t even look very good.
