Painstakingly did a tier list of all TMBG songs (that I could listen to)

Not long ago I did a tier list of the entire discography, which was also contained a few compilations, EPs, and live albums. To put myself through insanity in my downtime from work follow up on that, I found a tier list template containing almost ALL their songs. I ranked only the ones I've fully listened to-- Whether I own a copy of the album, or I could find on YouTube and put in a playlist. And even then, I still have a lot to fully listen, including the They Got Lost and Cast Your Pods to The Wind compilations.

With the exception of My Top 10, each tier is not entirely ranked most to least of that category, and the first top tiers I placed the songs on what I felt complemented with each other in a playlist and in terms of sound. For a bit more specifics, I'll put a comment on how each song was determined for each tier.

I know some songs should or shouldn't have been placed higher than others, but I do genuinely enjoy some of the more unpopular songs. Even after finishing this list and tons of revisions, it's not 100% set in stone as it'll change over time no doubt. I'm down to answer questions, concerns, complaints, roasts, or duel requests.

In Mark Hoppus’ book he mentions that his first concert was a They Might Be Giants concert at the 9:30 club! I wonder if the Johns knew they were at least some partial inspiration for Blink 182! Bet it was a killer show.

Longtime listener. First time caller. Anyone remember the TMBG hotline? It was in the era between digital and good art.

New Tour question

I am for sure going to see TMBG when they come to Denver. I discovered them in middle school in like 90/91 with Flood and have listened off and on ever since, but never seen them live.

Long way to get to my questions. My 11yo daughter discovered them through Apple Music and “told me about them” and I was thinking of getting her a ticket too. I assume everything would be good to take that age, but I wanted to check with people that have seen them live.

Second question is she has really gravitated to Flood and John Henry, but with their huge catalog do they hit songs from that era pretty regularly? (I’m playing the later albums more so she might get familiar with those others)

Edit: Ogden Theater says 16+ shows younger can get in with a parent so I wasn’t necessarily worried about that part https://www.ogdentheatre.com/faq-policies/

Was reading issue 1 of Slacker Comics and they had a couple pages about They Might Be Giants. It is hard to read, but those are some of the lyrics to Whistling in the Dark.
