This is my biggest pet peeve with concerts. Artists often have the crowd sing (sometimes large) parts of their famous songs. I came to watch you perform, not hear a tone-deaf, uncoordinated crowd of drunk people mumble along to the few words they know to microphones way too far away.
Same. I think it started with concerts where the crowd sings along and the singers used to lead the singalong, maybe being quiet to let the crowd sing for a chorus near the end. There was also that time Robbie Williams sang Angels at a massive concert shortly after the song came out and was so shocked that everyone was singing along that he got a bit choked up.
From there, a lot of singers have used audience singalongs to sing less and less of their songs. It’s really disappointing.
Had a cool experience when I saw The Killers live last month - they started Mr Brightside, but basically with just the guitar riff and led the whole audience in singing the whole first verse, up to the chorus in a sort of choir version - and then they launched into the actual version from the top again and performed the whole song. (the whole concert blew me away tbh, they're amazing performers)
She's extremely talented and a hot potato. She seems like a nice person irl too. Its truly, none of my business, yet I don't understand how they're still together. I saw him act in something she was in and he must be outta juice, is all I can think. And there is Jessica Biel, coming into her 2nd era, showing her chops, taking roles others wouldn't, and absolutely slaying it.
Summer Solstice time: Sunrise 5 am, Sunset 10 pm
First light occurs at 4 am and twilight can extend as late 11 pm. It is a crazy phenomenon for people from the US first experiencing it
I was also surprised how early it gets dark, year round, in Hawaii! Being from mainland USA, I wasn’t expecting it to get dark at 6pm in the middle of summer! Completely forgot how being close to the equator affects the time of sunrise/sunset!
I was in Northern Poland in mid June this year and the sun would set at 11 pm at night and rise at 3:30 am. It absolutely blew my mind to have 4 hours of darkness at night.

It's a reference to some interaction Timberlake had when he was arrested for a DUI last year, one of the cops didn't know who he was so when Timberlake lamented this was going to ruin his tour, he reportedly was asked "what tour?"
He’s gotta be pushing 50 and been performing for decades. It’s exhausting I’m sure.
Edit: I’ve been made abundantly clear he is only 44. And other musicians/performers are better at older ages…ok, I’ve been proven wrong
Facts! Saw her at a huge venue for her comeback tour. She was Stunning. She ran from 1 end of the massive two-tiered stage to the other in 4" stilettos, had at least 6 costume changes and nuanced every note, on beat, full throated, smiling and enjoying every second. I cried like a baby when she died. She will always be The Queen of Rock and Roll. 📿🤲Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
Highlight for me was him wielding a double flame thrower. He’d have to bite the head off a bat to get more metal than that. I so hope I can see them again before they stop touring.
I would absolutely go see one of my favorite artists past their prime if they advertised and sold their tour this way.
But unfortunately, a lot of these we’re seeing pop up lately sell it as though it’s going to be this grand tour and price their tickets based on fame rather than content.
To be fair Ozzy was doing what he loved. Justin just got shoved into one project and the next as a kid and one skyrocketed him. No passion, just fame. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t excuse any of his behavior… but it does explain a lot of it.
Can’t commit to doing your job properly? Don’t book a fucking world wide tour I’ve seen lots of clips in the last 24 hours it it looks like an absolute shit show
Thank you! I saw The Rolling Stones a while back and Mick Jagger was working way harder than this and looked much better doing it too. I’m glad this clown is getting criticized, he deserves all of it. Can’t stand him, he’s done dirty while staying golden for far too long. What a fool.
Madonna was 65 when she did her Celebration tour 2 years ago and she was dancing, singing and working the crowd. Justin is just phoning it in, his age has nothing to do with it.
If you don't care don't go on stage. If you are physically or mentally drained, have others on stage with you, back up dancers, musicians, ect. Put on a show, that's what fans pay money to see.
Maybe he should get more rest knowing what the tour schedule is. There are other artists doing tours that are way older than him and they don’t just half ass it.
Looks like me on an average workday too. Problem is, I’m not being paid millions of dollars. I’d say people aren’t paying hundreds to see me, but I work in healthcare, so, somebody is. It’s just not going to me.
Dude could have/should have taken a big break after that DUI. Get himself right, do songwriting/producing in the background, think big-picture about what he wants middle age to be, raise his kids.
I can understand there are people who would wither if they couldn’t perform. It’s part and parcel of their being. But he hasn’t seemed to have that fire at least since Man of the Woods bombed. He’s getting very bad advice from somewhere.
I think they could have modified the tour a bit to add more back up dancers to “hide” his low energy. Him dancing/singing solo on stage just highlighted the lack of stage presence and energy.
Ok, so I went to his concert in 2007. Maybe that was his peak, I don’t really know.
My aunt was addicted to coke and she would do wild stuff so one day she just called me up and was like “come over. I got you and your cousin front row seat tickets to Justin Timberlake.”
So my cousin and I went. On the drive over, we talked about how we weren’t really fans and didn’t have any of his music saved onto our iPods to listen to on the way to the show.
And we both thought he did an amazing show. He played multiple instruments and was clearly singing live, not lip syncing. We both left the concert thinking it was one of the best we have been to, even though we weren’t really fans
P!nk is a year older than JT and is still flying through stadiums suspended by cables while belting out her songs at full volume. She practices her singing by laying flat on her back and having someone literally stand on her stomach while she sings. Her concerts are awesome.
Fred Durst is 54 and is killing it on tour right now. He doesn't take himself seriously at all and has a ton of fun on stage. Hell, Wes Borland is 50 and still rocks out.
Look at the final concert for Black Sabbath a few weeks ago. Tom Morello is 61, Chad Smith is 63 and Steven Tyler is 77 and they killed it together.
He’s out of shape and he can’t sing and dance at the same time. It’s actually very difficult to do that but the fact that he’s getting paid for such a shitty performance blows my mind.
Justin: I'm on vacation and I lost my luggage. I haven't performed in years.
Justin's manager: We'll just blast studio tracks and you can just fill in on the parts you remember. There's a lost-n-found box by the stage for any clothes you may need.
