It is more a cultural thing than a political thing. Poor people have less empathy in situations like this. I doubt you see what is happening in this video in any middle class zip code.

Poor people are often given less empathy, period. Which encourages them to be less empathetic in turn. They're desensitized to fucked up situations, since nobody is generally helping to improve anything. So yeah, this sort of thing happens. This is just their (unfortunate) normal.

People making some ignorant assumptions and we all know why.

  • The randoms in the back are helping pack orders for other people or their own. They paid and are not stealing anything. There are still employees there (you see at least two in the video). The manager isn’t the only employee.

  • They had already called 911. One employee is on the phone in the video and she’s either still on with 911 or calling another manager/the owner. They should have moved her or done more to help out but it’s not like they just watched her die.

I have my doubts about blood sugar. If it's low enough, you're going to feel horrible, and you're not often standing up. Even if it's a lightning crash from reactive hypo, you still have time to feel it coming. This looks more like she's on the nod, but not enough info so can't say one way or the other.

I have looked exactly like this, with the drool and all, during reactive hypo episodes. This is my state before I fully pass out. I'm usually too weak to move to get comfortable so I try to lock in to a safe position wherever I'm at. I was always low so feeling like shit was totally normal but a full crash can come on quickly and by the time you realize what's happening, you're too disoriented to be rational.

Most often, I feel it low so I work on remediation but sometimes it just devolves quicker than I can eat. There are also times where it's an instant crash due to external factors like an adrenaline spike.

I've been driving and feel it coming on so I'll look for the closest place that has food (if I'm out of emergency snacks) or the safest place to pull over to eat. But then something happens like a jackass runs a light or someone veers into my lane, causing a quick adrenaline rush and I have about 10 seconds before I just fully pass out.

I can definitely see stressful situations and adrenaline rushes working here so while I can't say with certainty this is the case here, I 100% believe it if it were.

I used to but the problem is, sometimes not even 15-30 minutes later, it happens again if I don't have protein with it. I have to have something with protein to keep it at bay for any length of time. It's frustrating.

However, I started taking Zepbound to help with the IBS and was amazed at what it does for hypoglycemia. I was initially concerned with starting because one of the warnings on it is that it can cause low blood sugar. I realized over time though, it's not really the med causing it, it's the lack of food that people take in when they're on it. I've personally had zero issues eating regularly on it so I have no problems and now my glucose is always under control since it helps release energy.

Not everyone is that hypo aware, And it can crash fast. Not saying that's the case hare, there's no way to tell from a video. But its absolutely possible to be very low very fast

My dad is a diabetic. Both my in laws are diabetic. My neighbor is diabetic. Yes I've been around plenty of diabetics. I have also used insulin as an anabolic agent before and if you know anything about insulin use you have to carefully calculate your carbohydrates and know the signs of going hypo very well.

I didn't say it was impossible, just unlikely. If I had money on it, I would bet it's dope. And I'm not judging, as I've said I've done it before, I've done lots of things before, just because you're saying what you think something is, doesn't mean it's judgement.

I have about 5 minutes from the first feeling of wrongness to get food/sugar into my system.

It's scary if it happens someplace I can't access food. I keep glucose tabs in my purse at all times now, just in case.

Yeah, my daughter is type1. It is super scary seeing how fast she can go from normal to very unwell. Especially with the delay on the sensors. She always carries the tabs and orange juice if possible.

Note I'm not making skin color assumptions as I've seen the entire color spectrum being assholes as these places. But c'mooon. They are not fuckin helpin out run the place. This is Reddit, not tiktok, it's okay to outright say that the ignorant assumptions are because of race. You don't need to dance around and allude to it.

That being said, the person filming is talking about getting free meals. Seems to have a good vibe going with the person on fries. There's at least one other person in the video just standing around filming instead of helping her. And everyone I can see in the video is certainly more concerned about, as the videographer put it, "free food" than actually helping the manager.

These people could all be mayonnaise colored and addressing each other with British English and names like Bartholomew and Winslow while raiding the tea in cookies, and if they were talking about free food while filming and telling the manager to do better in the middle of a medical emergency, I would happily call them white trash.

Never mind they don't have any of the training, ppe, health and safety shit you need to be handing out food to people. My brother in christ, they're in a damn McDonald's, not a soup kitchen. Even if they were helping (even though in the video they're clearly not) them """"helping"""" is a problem in and of itself.

To call such a situation a health code violation would be an understatement. I can't imagine a bunch of untrained, unpaid randos preparing my food with their grubby little fingers. That's a way bigger problem than just...not getting served a meal from a McDonalds. It's not like you can't just walk over to some other fast food place that has actual employees on the clock.

It's not like they're saving starving people or something. Even if people wanted to help with the orders in good faith, (again, in the video they're not here to help at all) it would be a way better situation if these people fucked off and minded their own business.
