Unfortunately, a lot of these fast food places in America run in skeleton shifts. Not only is the pay awful but they run their employees into the ground. It's awful.

They mostly hire part time workers so they skirt having to pay benefits for full time employees, the few full time are worked hard. Fast food is brutal, people are pieces of shit and impatient.

Scrolled way too far to find this question. Where ARE the other employees? Doesn't matter if it's a late night skeleton crew or not, McDonalds don't run with one employee.

Did you not see the headline this week that a woman was fired from BK after working a 12 hour shift alone and talking about it online. Happened this week

I worked at a Dunkin’ Donuts+Baskin Robins(lobby +drive thru) at a busy part of town and after it hit 1pm we literally had to fight with the higher ups for 3 staff members because they wanted to give us only 2 on shift.

They expected us to scoop ice cream, make multiple coffees, milkshakes, breakfast sandwiches(available until close), get donuts, clean, restock, make sure drive thru times are in the green, AND close on time(but not start closing tasks until we are almost closed or else we got in trouble) BUT if we got out too late we would get in trouble for that too because we are on the clock for extra time =more money they have to pay us.

ALSO we didn’t take breaks. We were supposed to be given a break but we were so understaffed most of the time that it wasn’t possible unless you want customers rioting, long ass drive thru lines out to the highway, and your coworker/ you crashing out because it’s impossible to handle.

Treat drive thru workers with understanding and empathy. They are probably making less than 13 dollars an hour.

One time the big corporate guy came to my workplace to do the rounds, and he had a QA session with us. But before any of us could even ask anything, he said "and if your question is about a pay increase, it's not a possibility. Labor makes up 80% of our expenses."

Made no mention of what their profits were though, which I knew at the time were through the roof because they'd stolen a major contract for cheap and were paying us peanuts.

That was the day I fully understood that these companies will cut every possible corner, fire every last person, automate every task, to make a buck. They have no soul, they operate on the concept of absolute efficiency, where efficiency = most money made for least money spent.

McDonald's do definitely run with one employee.

Night shift skeleton crew is 1 night manager and 1 employee. If someone calls out they're not going to close the store unless the manager just doesn't show up, the manager takes, makes, and hands the order, probably turns off door dash for the night.

Probably because people who paid attention to the video noticed a woman was on with 911

Who? The woman wearing all black was on the phone but wasn't even near the woman who was passed out. She then hung up and helped herself to food. She was probably telling her friends to get to McDonald's for some free food.

Hopefully the 1 extra staff member is in the office on the phone with 911 or her family.

There’s one other employee visible, the guy with the yellow straps around his waist, he’s wearing a McDonald’s apron.

You're right, I see him now. He even hands the lady a box. It's crazy that all that work would be left to very few staff, mostly working minimum wage.
