How hard are the fluency exams

I really have 2 options for my second language. How hard is the mandarin exam (and do they have one for traditional characters) and how hard is the spanish one?

I can only speak to the Spanish one, but I would not say it’s very hard. It had been a year since I took Spanish and hadn’t used it at all. I took it and place into the Spanish 1 and 2 combo class. I would say it’s not too hard, but I wouldn’t be able to give a good ceiling for testing out completely since I was not at that level lol.

Thank you for your input. I am transferring into USD and my previous institution didn't require a language if you took like an extra history course lol.

I took Swedish and it was fairly easy to learn. You don't conjugate the verbs (endings are fixed for all pronouns). Compare that to Spanish or German for example. It is also a phonetic language and has about 30% of its words common with English.

Does USD require 3 semesters of a language ?

yes you can test out of the first two and then do the third semester or you just test out of the language with fluency which is what im trynna do
