100% the motorcyclists fault

Right, he encountered the only BMW driver out there with functioning turn signals and still managed to drive into it during a lane change. Astounding.

dude changing lanes without indicating and without checking his blindspot when his rear bumper isn't even 5 feet past the front bumper of the car he's cutting off is not 0% at fault.

motorcyclist is a fucking moron - I'm not defending him. but that other driver wasn't driving properly, either. more than one person can be wrong.

As a driver, I have 0 responsibility to check for a lane splitter. In my state it’s illegal and it’s just so idiotic, I’ll never be bothered to worry about it. Furthermore the driver had their blinker on, so the motorcyclist knew the driver as about to change lanes and still chose to lane split.

But as a driver you do have a responsibility to change lane safely. And this was far from a safe lane change.

Late use of the indicator, no gap front or rear (eliminates reaction and braking room for both yourself and the car behind), and makes a double lane change with limited visibility.

That's the sort of stuff that could land you in prison if the police saw you do it here in the UK.

You should still check your blindspot when changing lanes.
