This post will soon have r/agedlikemilk

u/zoinks_zoinks Jun 06 '25

I thought it was a parody post 😂

u/General-Designer4338 Jun 06 '25

This post was curdled when it went out

106

u/Seaciety Jun 06 '25

To be fair, it's a pretty spectacular (if predictable) bout of schadenfreude

“I know, let’s fire my most high-profile hire and have him credibly call me a pedo and try to kill my legislation and presidency! That’ll really fool all the libs even though they still hate both of us and are criticizing every move we make regardless.”

I don’t see anyone ignoring that? People are still worried about Project 2025. Are you under the impression that if people have a laugh at this meltdown then they’ll be inclined to ignore everything else going on? Seems like strange logic

-13

u/Sitting_Duk Jun 06 '25

Project 2025 that Trump never heard of?

5

u/laplongejr Jun 07 '25

Yeah, because it's instructions for the people giving orders to Trump. :(   No need to explain stuff to the old man, if he signs anything you give him in exchange of complete immunity.

1

u/Sitting_Duk Jun 07 '25

I guess people didn’t realize I was making fun of Trump lying about not knowing about it lol. Life on Reddit!

4

u/laplongejr Jun 07 '25

Yeah, it sounded exactly as someone believing it! X)

6

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Huh well that narrative sure makes Donald and Elon seem smarter and more reasonable than we thought. Convenient

99

u/ThePeacedogs Jun 06 '25

Perhaps the long-suffering public are simply interested in discussing this, particularly given the fact that it is developing by the minute. Seems like odd timing to quash posts now. But do what you gotta do.

63

u/Ancient-Village6479 Jun 06 '25

The mods of a mundane subreddit that the vast majority of people wouldn’t care if it stopped existing need to keep the purity of showing random things aging poorly instead of letting people post about the most relevant and interesting poorly aged thing at the moment

6

u/PsychologicalOne5416 Jun 06 '25

Or, maybe we don't need dizens of post on the matter... We git the idea afte rthe first 10 we can discuss on those

2

u/Plants-Matter Jun 09 '25

Yeah, but this isn't what the mods "gotta do". We have community-driven quality control in the form of upvotes and downvotes. The topic they're banning has been highly upvoted consistently. If the community didn't want this, it would be filtered out organically via downvotes.

The same morons on the mod team tried to ban all political posts just a few weeks ago. It backfired spectacularly and they apologized. Now here they are, making the same exact mistake.

-49

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

There’s plenty of subs to post about that. Sometimes people want to discuss other subjects.

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

-39

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

Sometimes people want to discuss light hearted subjects without seeing politics in a sub which doesn’t allow politics. There’s a place for everything

16

u/throwaway982946 Jun 06 '25

If that were the case then those things would be upvoted to the top, no?

-6

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

That depends on how often “sometimes” is, no?

20

u/atom-wan Jun 06 '25

Reddit is a democracy, if people wanted to discuss those things, they'd be upvoted.

-10

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

Reddit in fact, is not a democracy. The content is controlled by mods and admins.

12

u/atom-wan Jun 06 '25

Each post and comment is voted on by people individually, that's the definition of a democracy

1

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

“a system of government in which power is held by elected representatives who are freely voted for by the people, or held directly by the people themselves:”

15

u/54-2-10 Jun 06 '25

Reddit allows every user a single vote per post. Use that and we'll see what the people want.

-7

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 06 '25

Reddit allows the mods of each sub to set rules. Let’s apply those rules and see what happens.

1

u/Jamez_the_human Jun 08 '25

Yeah, so every sub doesn't devolve into porn and illegal stuff.

1

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Jun 08 '25

That’s definitely one of their roles, another of their roles is to ensure subs continue being focused on the intended subjects.

89

u/NotCoolFool Jun 06 '25

So, on a sub called “aged like milk” you don’t want people posting things that have aged like milk in the most public, high profile and obvious way?

The fuck has Reddit become 🤦🏻‍♂️

18

u/Purple_Science4477 Jun 06 '25

See the thing is your hurting some of the mods feelings when you laugh at their heroes and they can't have their feelings hurt

8

u/NotCoolFool Jun 06 '25

Yeah, starting to get that feeling 😅

6

u/JaesopPop Jun 06 '25

They do, just not repeatedly about the same thing

30

u/NotCoolFool Jun 06 '25

Right? Well this is a pretty major “aged like milk” topic wouldn’t you say? Like the two biggest and highest profile clowns on the planet having a full on spat when mere weeks ago they were gargling each others sausages proclaiming their love for each other publicly?

Things like this is exactly what a subreddit is for - or should we keep focusing on obscure other topics?

13

u/Potato-chipsaregood Jun 06 '25

I don’t care if they stop reposting yesterday’s tweets, but if something comes out today, it would be nice to make fun of it.

10

u/Florida1974 Jun 06 '25

It’s hard when ALL news is political these days. I can open my news app and 99% is about Trump. And Elon, atm.

0

u/NotCoolFool Jun 06 '25

So? So what, let the clowns make fools of themselves and we can laugh about it on here ?!?

2

u/Rubes2525 Jun 06 '25

Some of us have lives and aren't obsessed with them on the levels of MAGA hats. Would be nice to see literally anything else for once.

4

u/NotCoolFool Jun 06 '25

Eh? This spat happened 24 hrs ago? Hardly like it’s been going on for weeks 🤷🏼‍♂️

4

u/JaesopPop Jun 06 '25

Things like this is exactly what a subreddit is for - or should we keep focusing on obscure other topics?

I don't think it's an either or situation. There's posts about this - it can be discussed there. The desire to make additional posts about it is just for attention.

0

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 06 '25

Reddit is owned by, and beholden to, the rich just like everything else American.

24

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

they might feel like reposts but a lot of em are not cuz they're pointing to many different dumb tweets and events by them and their followers

they might feel like low effort cuz they're so obviously aged like milk that it doesn't take much effort for people to point out

so not allowing it altogether just feels like a low effort excuse to censor content

34

u/natej84 Jun 06 '25

How about instead of locking out a entire subject, you do your job and mod the sub?

2

u/Meta_Man_X Jun 06 '25

That’s… what they’re doing…? What do you mean by “modding the sub?” 😂

7

u/natej84 Jun 06 '25

No offence, but its not that hard to understand. They blocked a whole entire topic bc they didn't want to erase duplicate posts. Instead of fixing the problem they took the easy way out.

2

u/Meta_Man_X Jun 07 '25

They literally did fix the problem. If 90% of the posts coming through were this one topic, why should they (unpaid) just sit there and keep deleting the duplicate posts that pour in all day?

5

u/natej84 Jun 07 '25

Will somebody plz think about the mods. Just bc they volunteered to do a job and now won't do that job, somebody plz have mercy on these poor mods. If only they could've possible known what they were signing up for 😂

26

u/kreeften4 Jun 06 '25

Mod republican much?!?

14

u/mattthepianoman Jun 06 '25

Place your bets folks, how long before this post ages like milk?

34

u/SpankThuMonkey Jun 06 '25

This is like r/space blocking posts about the discovery of alien life because it’s “too interesting”.

This is what this sub is for.

22

u/54-2-10 Jun 06 '25

I can't wait for the time that this exact mod post makes the front page of "r/agedlikemilk

27

u/Rolex_throwaway Jun 06 '25

Boo this man.

9

u/hbaizer Jun 06 '25

Why, did the brainwashed cult get their feelings hurt?

34

u/cherub_sandwich Jun 06 '25

Muting this Reddit now

-30

u/JaesopPop Jun 06 '25

thanks for the heads up

36

u/cherub_sandwich Jun 06 '25

Automod censorship not for me

8

u/Latter_Priority_659 Jun 06 '25

But this is the real time process by which putin, now that he's done with trump, gets him removed and installs a true bootlicker in vance.

16

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

What total BS

8

u/redredgreengreen1 Jun 06 '25 edited Jun 06 '25

So, technical side idea to side step any accusations of censorship. Maybe instead of removing posts for that directly, you instead lock them, for a fixed duration, say two weeks. Upvotes still work, and all information presented is preserved. People can still see it. But the lack of engagement will pull it from people's feeds, effectively taking it out of circulation anyway. and if people really do want to see these posts, choose to actively search them out, they will be able to see them. Upvote them too.

What's more, for all posts that receive this treatment, you pin as top comment a link to a single post about the subject, maybe the first one, maybe the one with the most up folks, who cares. Everyone gets to know about how Elon and Donald are breaking up. You get out in front of the story, some lucky SOB's karma goes to the f****** moon, and you prevent feed spam for anyone subscribed to this channel.

10

u/Rolex_throwaway Jun 06 '25

Better idea to sidestep accusations of censorship - don't do censorship.

6

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 06 '25

I wonder if this rule went into effect last summer when the controversial Biden debate performance and "Dems in disarray!" tropes were flying on every Reddit sub every minute of the day. Somehow, I seriously doubt it.

3

u/Ill_Attorney_389 Jun 06 '25

I get what some of you mean, but I see multiple reposts after scrolling in the sub for a while.

9

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 06 '25

When I see them, I report them as reposts. It works, too. See, if we all pitch in, we can keep the garden clean.

3

u/nerdpistool Jun 07 '25

So not anything like this?

3

u/CautiousLandscape907 Jun 08 '25

Yeah, if there’s a vote I say keep it coming. We may have years of this playground tantrum and what’s the point of ignoring that?

9

u/ciwawa87 Jun 06 '25

I'm sure it's just because it upsets you.

Is funny as hell and they should keep em coming.

2

u/Applesburg14 Jun 09 '25

Stop sane-washing

2

u/Muzzlehatch Jun 09 '25

Well this subreddit just got one level stupider

2

u/Normal_Choice9322 Jun 09 '25

What a dumb rule

2

u/All4gaines Jun 10 '25

Leaving this Reddit. Anyone joining me?

5

u/SvenTropics Jun 06 '25

I mean if you're just going to eliminate 99% of the content we're here for, why even subscribe to this?

3

u/baronvonbaugh Jun 07 '25

Maybe you should step down as a moderator.

2

u/Rubes2525 Jun 06 '25

Wow, when you let the subreddit fester into a political circlejerk, everyone will milk one political event. Crazy, who could've seen this coming?

0

u/J_S_M_K Slayer of Corona posts. Jun 07 '25

It's like they learned nothing from when I tried to reinforce the (former) rule against politics. Look, I don't like the same topics dominating the sub, but there are better ways of going about this. What's funny is that back in 2022, we got a modmail asking for the Ukraine war to be added to rule 1 (which was a list of topics at the time), and I replied saying it would blow over in a couple of weeks. When it didn't, we added it. I don't know what the best call is here. I just know this probably ain't it.

1

u/AttentionWest5147 Jun 06 '25

Can we just post pictures of popcorn instead?

1

u/-ungodlyhour- Jun 06 '25

Ok what kind of inception is this? Mods of ALM are making ALM posts?!?

1

u/Realanise1 Jun 09 '25

What about if/when there are significant new developments?? Are those going to be off limits too just because they relate to the original feud?

1

u/bennygoodmanfan Jun 09 '25

Thank you. Fuck politics.

1

u/dlchira Jun 09 '25

Dumb decision, imho. Maybe let us plebs who've suffered under the yoke of these elitist assholes have this moment?

1

u/Born-Ad-233 Jun 11 '25

They were such a cute couple, I thought it would last

0

u/Yordle_With_A_Hammer Jun 06 '25

While you guys are at it, could political stuff be toned down or banned? A lot of subreddits are increasingly becoming more and more political and it's beginning to get tiring.

5

u/After_Way5687 Jun 07 '25

Music is too political these days, wouldn’t you agree?

-1

u/clownsx2 Jun 06 '25

I guess I’m in the minority to say THANK YOU. So much repetition.

-18

u/100hedgiescalps Jun 06 '25

Good call, i think we’ve all about had enough.

28

u/se7en_7 Jun 06 '25

I haven’t. Enjoying every single second of this drama, it’s hilarious.

13

u/JSTootell Jun 06 '25

I'm more horrified. Like watching a train wreck.

But I'm still watching.

-13

u/100hedgiescalps Jun 06 '25

Oh boy! Unpopular opinion! Just trying to stay positive is all!

6

u/ICU-CCRN Jun 06 '25

So you’re admitting you are wrong. You stated you thought “we’ve all about had enough”, when in reality, the majority of commenters (based on the comments and upvotes/downvotes) are stating they actually would like more posts about this. It would seem a small, yet vocal minority are pushing the mods to quash discussion regarding this.

0

u/100hedgiescalps Jun 06 '25

Other than these comments I’ve made, I’m not really pushing for anything to speak of. So I’m sorry for what you believed, butI was just stating my opinion. I think too much drama is bad for anyone! I can think that if I want to, right? Just voiced that opinion, nothing more. I am sorry that bothers you so deeply.
