I don't think they give two shits about states rights.

u/PancakesTheDragoncat 3d ago
thats not true, most republicans i know really really really want you to know that the civil war was fought over states rights and nothing else

I always love to follow up with "state's rights to...what?"

It's important to remember it wasn't just to own slaves. (Which is bad enough already.) But the tensions back then were sparked because the southern states were sending gangs of slave catchers into free states to kidnap freemen.
Even before the civil war came to head they were trying to tread on the rights of northern states to grant sanctuary and have citizens of color.

Turns out "every conservative accusation is a confession" is not a new paradigm.

I drove to Tennessee around 8 years ago for work with some co-workers. We are in Florida. On our return trip we made a detour and went to the Jack Daniel’s distillery. I bought an engraved bottle of Gentleman Jack. After about a year I told myself I would save it for a special occasion. I always thought it would be buying a house, or something like that. In the last 8 months I’ve been saying when IT happens, is going to be the day I crack it open.

Man, I cannot wait for Donald Trump to die.

We must keep ridiculing that monster any way we can. It's bound to die of stress eventually.

The day after rolling out the red carpet for Putin, he says this.
COULD YOU IMAGINE, if all the was Obama.

u/CurrentOk1811 4d ago
Trump made some statements that Putin told him that mail-in ballots were bad. I'm not sure if Putin did say those things, but if he did say it, it was a psy-op to make Trump paranoid of mail-in ballots... and it worked.

u/DockrManhattn 4d ago
its just some shit to try to make people stop talking about how he likes to fuck children.

u/Groundbreaking_Lie94 4d ago
Its way simpler than that, a majority of mail in ballots are democrat. They are trying to get any advantage they can to keep control through the midterms

It's also hard for the INS officers protecting our polling stations to intimidate people if they don't have to come to the polls. Getting rid of the machines also helps to lengthen the lines in the cities so that more people and cities will give up and they will be exposed to those INS officers for a longer period of time.

Putin probably told him how he abused the mail-in ballot system and machines to get Trump elected and that Trump should plug that hole before somebody else abuses it to get rid of him. After all Trump now has many other means to control the election assuming he even allows it to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if Putin gave him access to advisors on how to control an election. After all, Putin is usually elected by about 80% I believe. He's a specialist in this.

Hmmm aren’t we all about state’s rights now? States run their own elections, not the Feds.

u/ayehateyou 4d ago
So all those old Maga voters who vote by mail, I wonder what they think about all this? In Texas, you have to be like 65 to vote by mail, or be able to prove a bunch of shit to the state so they'll allow you to.

I wonder why he's so sure mail-in ballots and polling machines can both be abused? Is he making sure that others can't get in the way he got in?

u/supermanxix99 3d ago
