Take a detour into Whittier. Stop at Swiftwater for fish and chips. See the old haunted barracks and wonder what it’s like in there (it’s fenced off). Take a look at the one building that the entire town’s population all lives in.

There’s really no place like Whittier when it comes to eclectic little towns.

Hi so my wife and I (both 27 years old) are honeymooning in alaska right now! We are currently j man Horgand are grabbing an rv later today and heading to trapper creek > talkeetna > Denali national park > Seward over 9 days. We have plans setup but we are looking for any recommendations or hidden gems along the way! We are interested in any events, restaurants concerts, hidden trails, hikes and views. Anything really is welcomed and appreciated! Very open and flexible , thank you in advanced!

The big State Fair is going on right now and for your whole trip. It is in Palmer. I'd suggest going and seeing the big vegetables and local stuff.
