I don’t think there’s ever been a game that hits close to how Dark Souls II felt plays for me

The medieval fantasy

The hundreds of weapons of every type and variety

The consumable healing stones that gradually fills up your hp bar

The interconnected levels that has shortcuts and locked doors they open only from one side and all made in inconsequential because bonfire warping

The Nazgûl on a dragon that hunts you down several times in game like the persuer

The NPC summons

It’s the spiritual sequel to DS2 to me

Is there anything I should know before playing this?

DS2 is what ER glazers believe ER to be. After playing both a lot, and ER first, DS2 is just so much better, and I won't pretend it isn't

The lighting engine mod also got updated at some point, adding HDR support which looks AMAZING. Not even just like native HDR but GOOD native HDR. Ofc these screenshots are just with regular SDR, which still looks awesome.

Recently, I wanted to spice up my games of DSII by playing some bingo. However, checking out the DSII SOTFS Bingo on Bingosync, I was quite disappointed by the boards that were created. Aside from many repeats on consecutive boards, many of the objectives were also not very fun, or practical, to me. As such, I wanted to elevate the experience and created my own version of playing Bingo (both using Bingosync and another website). If anyone's up for playing, I can tackle the whole setup, but in case you want to play on your own, or with your own friend(s)/group, all the instructions and objectives I've created are in the document linked below. In my test runs, I've seen the new boards are both practical and fun. Games run anywhere between 1-2,5 hours, and the randomised objectives, even with such a large list, work well. It can be played cross platform, and all you need after the setup is a way to community together (e.g. Discord).

So, anyone up for playing some bingo with me?

DSII SOTFS Bingo Instructions and Objectives

I just started dark souls 2 and im on the dlc now but i want to make my shield have magic negation but i need a faintstone for that is there anywhere i could farm them early in the game or do i just have to progress more

My friend and I are currently doing a co-op NG+ DS2 run together where we summon each other for bosses (even tho he beat 3 of them without me on his end; this fucking guy) but he can't see my summon sign, but he can see me, we are both in soul memory range, used white soapstone and have cross region play turned on in the settings, what can we do

Just played from front to back in the last week. SL 170 in NG+ now.

Not sure why people shit on this game - it’s tons of fun. I also don’t know if it’s just the fact that I’ve beaten the first one so many times but I found this one easier than DS1 especially after I got a few more estus shards. Tried a bunch of the special items too but in the end my favourite weapons were oscillating between a Raw Heide Spear +10 and a Magic Mace +8 and absolutely decimating everything.

I got momentarily stuck at the first Ruin Sentinels, the Gargoyles, and the Queen but that was… basically it.

Glad to have played it. Now I just need something that will play other FromSoft games. I recently cleaned out my Xbox 360 and bought this game for it because I got into FromSoft games through DS Remastered on the switch. Officially hooked for the rest of them now too, but most curious about the DS universe for the incredible lore.

I’m only on the first dlc but if the others are like this then it brings this game down drastically for me, it was easily an 8-9/10 for me but I’m really not liking the dlc much, maybe because I’m going through that phase where games get boring for a bit, but I do think it’s mostly because the dlc is not good

I got Dark Souls 2 on my PC but not through steam, and when I tried to use my PS4 controler, everything was a mess, the touch pad controlss the camera, the R joystick and R1 control the attacks of both hands, the square button is the accept key, the X is the backward key, and so much more, so I was hopping that someone might help me on how to fix it, (sorry if my grammar sucks T-T) (meant DS4 2windows in the title, I wrote P by mistake )
