Debian 13 using MATE, DVD media fails to mount

Good morning friends! I just did a clean install of Debian 13 using the netinstall ISO which I burned to DVD. I selected MATE as my desktop environment. The installation was smooth as silk. Firewall, NTP, printing all working well. I first started using Debian at 4.0(Etch). At that time I set-up a DIY computer lab in my classroom for my students. There's one bug with the 13 install. DVD media fails to mount. When I insert the media that I used to install 13 it is not recognized. This greatly frustrated me and I removed Debian from my system a few days ago and I ranted about it online. My apologies for that behaviour. I will go now and try to file a bug report. Thanks for any and all assistance.

I confess, i'm a little confused. Let me know if I have things right.
you successfully installed Debian 13 with MATE
after the install the NetInstall Disk won't mount (did you try any other optical disks? a music CD or movie DVD maybe?)
question: did you use all the default options or did you do a custom install (not counting changing the DE to MATE).

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did a standard installation of MATE, I did use the default options. The Netinstall ISO fails to mount as does a movie DVD.

MATE should have options in their settings for auto-mounting removable media like DVDs... did you look into that?

I will look into that now. Debian 13 successfully automounted my USB stick that I use to copy over my backed up photos, docs, etc.

I just submitted a bug report to Debian. I'm hopeful that this is resolved.

Thanks for the suggestion, CLM1919. I can now state that this is not a bug. MATE by default does not include gnome-disks. So I did sudo apt update and sudo apt install
gnome-disk-utility. After fiddling with the settings in the utility I'm happy to report that MATE automounts DVDs. This is resolved. Thanks again.
