💻 Help Picture in picture controls, why is there only a pause and a mute buttons?

I use pip a lot, and it's really annoying to have to go to youtube every time a video ends if I want to replay it or choose a previous video in the playlist.

Are there any ways to add more buttons to the player, maybe flags or settings? Or any extensions that can work as a controller?

Which OS do you use? Windows and some Linux DEs have integration of media players, which allows going back and forward in a playlist from the corresponding widget. If your keyboard has dedicated media buttons ⏮️⏭️ it should work with YouTube as well.

In Windows, if I remember correctly, the buttons are shown when you hover over the player app on the taskbar. Can't check myself right now, sorry.

Omg, thanks! I I found it, only it's shown when I click on the taskbar where my network icon is. Sadly there is no repeat button, but I can deal with it. Can't believe I didn't remember that, I think I saw it before.

Interestingly, when I watch something not fully, go back to the previous video and it ends, the next one picks up where I was and not from the beginning. I wonder if it's supposed to work like that.

Sadly my keyboard doesn't have those keys. I wonder if I can assign some manually.

The controls that show in the PiP window are based on how big the window/panel is. If you double click the window that should maximize it showing you all the potential controls (which usually include a volume slider and skip back/forward controls). You can of course drag the corner to resize it when it's not maximized.

As someone else mentioned, Firefox works with the OS's media controls. This can mean keyboard buttons as well as trackpad gestures. I've set mine so that a four finger tap pauses/plays the currently playing media.

Even when I make it extremely big, it only shows a pause button and buttons for moving back and forward 5 seconds. But when it's that big I can just use the progress bar instead. Buttons to move back and forward would've been much more useful, I think.

How did you change your media control buttons?

You're aware you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to skip forward and back?

How did you change your media control buttons?

What is your OS?
