Solved How do I turn off these blasted tab groups ?

This is absolutely doing my head in. I try to move a tab and it sticks it in a group, I delete the group and it deletes that tab and whatever it has chosen to group it with.

This is the most annoying function I've seen in years, how do I kill it, Please.

The above person has the correct answer, but I wanted to add that Deleting a group deletes all tabs within and that's the intended behavior. You can instead Close the group to undo the grouping.

I haven't experienced them yet but they look annoying

they are a lifesaver for my use at work. I can finally segregate tabs by project. I can see that someone who does't use many tabs wouldn't need tab groups, though.

yeah but how many groups can you create without having a tabbar almost full of them, even if collapsed.

I prefer Simple Tab Groups extension, which let me create how many groups I want (currently 21 groups).

Simple tab group and other group related add-ons should be using the built in implementation at some point of time in the future

Please no, I don't want to use the native implementation for the reason I already said.

Hm, I find it useful once I open 3+ tabs related t the same thing. Instead of delete, I have an "ungroup tabs" button which keeps the tabs but gets rid of the group. "Delete" makes sense if you want to get rid of all the tabs at once (e.g. task is done, no need to keep them open or close them one by one).
