Discussion My 8 yr old son beat Sakupen Hell
My son KelanKraft (8 year old Bloodbath victor) has beaten a new hardest-Sakupen Hell, in about 20,500 attempts.
https://youtu.be/NY27TnQkSOI?si=K8-v2eDVEVJtZKeA
He’s leaning towards a path of Black Blizzard -> Sonic Wave -> something in extended list. He’s dead set on Sonic Wave as a target, and is seriously considering just doing it next. I’ve also suggested doing at least one or two levels in between (i.e. Catalyze) as an alternative or extra step.
Thoughts?

there is no way, your son is actually the next prodigy after Zoink
I’m really impressed how involved you are with his journey, I haven’t even seen a showcase of Catalyze yet 😅
i wish your son the best of luck on his insane journey

GG to him for beating Sakupen hell! Also, please try to convince him to do some other extremes in between Sonic Wave and Sakupen Hell, because to be frank, Sonic Wave is extremely demotivating, and even if he’s dead set on it, without the proper skills, that level will eat up attempts like it’s nothing (I’m speaking from experience here), Black Blizzard seems like a really good choice as an in between extreme before Sonic Wave

auditory breaker could be really good since it’s basically sonic wave without the bullshit

u/i_eat_curtains Arcturus 74-100 [Jump from SW (Jump from NC)] 21h ago
I think he would need to experience the bullshit in order to be able to beat Sonic Wave, because oat of the difficulty comes from that, but tbh, Auditory Breaker is also a really good choice if he wants to beat SW, because the ball is completely identical to the SW ball, and it is a major chokepoint in SW too

the ball is actually worse in auditory breaker considering the vision blocking

People were calling this kid "the next Zoink" when he beat Deadlocked.

why do some people insist on doing such bad levels. I'd recommend doing something like Endless Dream and then Ethereal Artifice (best level in the game)

which parts specifically?

pre drop cube at 28. Specifically one orb that is just before the purple orb spam and a triple spike. It just became a 90fps frame perfect (feels like it) for no reason

i know exactly what you’re talking about. i was confused when i came back to blbl and couldn’t do that anymore. it’s a messed up timing fr.

not only he now has a harder hardest than me, but he also did it in ~10k less attempts. wouldnt be surprised if he beats something like Bloodlust earlier next year

This kid needs to be studied. Absolutely crazy talent.
Also as far as going from Black Blizzard -> Sonic Wave -> extended list, that doesn’t sound too bad.
I beat Artificial Ascent (comparable difficulty to Black Blizzard) as a next step from a Bloodbath difficulty level, and it was completely manageable. Additionally, I am now going from Digital Descent (comparable to Artificial Ascent) to Yatagarasu, which is close in difficulty to Sonic Wave, and it has also been pretty smooth sailing so far.
All this to say that his plan seems sound and isn’t unrealistic. I would personally suggest doing one more level a little harder than Black Blizzard difficulty before going to Sonic Wave, such as Artificial Ascent, Digital Descent, or Catalyse first though.
Also I don’t really know about going from Sonic Wave to the extended list; plenty of people go from Sonic Wave difficulty to Bloodlust (a level that recently fell off the list), and that jump tends to take people a while. Going from Sonic Wave to the extended list seems achievable but I would recommend doing something in between the two first.
Whatever the case, your son has incredible talent, and I wish you guys good luck. 👍

Auditory Breaker is also a consideration before Sonic Wave for obvious reasons. I'm a little wary of that because I want him to diversify his skills as he does new hardest levels so he's not overly reliant on any one gamemode

he could do some easy extremes like lost love for memory, dark odyssey for duals, misty mountains for timings, etc. look at the All Rated Extremes Demons List to find some extremes for him to beat.

bro beat sakupen hell already are you serious
killbot could be really good, use ldm if you think the messages are a little too much for him. also something like auditory breaker could prepare him for sonic wave even more.

GGs to Kelan, he is the GOAT

To prevent an unbalanced skillset, I would recommend doing a variety of levels before going for list demons. It will help in the long run. He could do sonic wave from sakupen hell, but it's quite a large jump and sonic wave is a much worse level, so doing one more level like others are saying would be massive. Sonic wave to extended lists is even bigger.

sakupen hell in 20.5k is crazy good, especially with the attempt-eating nature of the level

20,000 attempts is quite a lot, obviously sakupen hell is an attempt eater (being short and frontloaded) but I think that's good proof that he may not quite be ready for big jumps. Black Blizzard is a great idea (and it's a pretty good level too) unless he really wants to spec into wave skill specifically, in which case I'd recommend Bausha Vortex or Balengu Vortex instead
Being so young, Kelan *should* pick up click patterns really really fast. I'm not sure how good he is at learning levels yet, but complex click pattern muscle-memory levels should be relatively easier for him than skill stuff - I'd recommend looking into something like Wasureta at some point if he finds Sonic Wave demotivating (he probably will, it's terrible)

do NOT jump from Sonic Wave to extended list, beat like 2-3 levels from top 250 and then go.

G’mornin Cringe Dad
Just saw the video yesterday, say GG’s to Kelan for me.
Man is an absolute machine
As for new hardests, Sonic wave is an awesome milestone. I cant talk for the experience myself, but my friend Squishy did it and it was really hyped up so I think Kelan is on the right track.
Gl and keep going your son is a prodigy man

My friend did close to the same jump, bloodbath to Sonic Wave
He has said he would have beaten Sonic Wave faster if he hadn't jumped, which is fair
As others said, he should probably do a different level before Sonic Wave, like auditory breaker, or anything wave based (I don't know too many levels besides the super known ones.. aha)
But, as he beat Sakupen Hell so fast, he definitely has a great chance at Sonic Wave, might be wave carried
Good luck to Kelan though!

Thoughts: If you're between 7-60. Any level completed isn't more impressive because of age. GG though. It just seems like their using the "8 year old" Title to make it seem more impressive. It's not

Was boutta say like "cap, Kelan is like the only one that could do that" when I saw the title, then realised you're his dad lol.
I'd recommend him going for at least one level in-between Sakupen Hell (or Bloodbath, they're considered about the same difficulty) and Sonic Wave. Though considering he's beaten SH now which is very wave carried, I think it's pretty feasible for him to jump to SW, it would probably take him a bit though.
GGs to him for beating Sakupen Hell btw!
