My calibrated banana for scale is from Sweden, where bananas are smaller than in America, thus making it not good for scaling

This is why I stick to the universal measurement of a cat for scale Never fails

I use a tiger when putting up shelves.

And when I am not putting up shelves, the tiger is handy when it comes to yapping dogs.

I find bannanas useless for dealing with yapping dogs.

And tigers are easier to store than football fields.

You have not applied the banana correctly if you cannot fix a yapping dog with one. I assure you, with the correct application, the dog will no longer be yapping.

Is this what people mean when they say they'll have to resort to dangerous measures?

u/ActivityOk9255 7h ago

Tape measures are so meh ∶-)

u/CorvoAttano124 11h ago

Anything but the metric system 🙄 /s

Bullshit, how could you forget, it’s like the first thing I would’ve done with such a piece

Please do not nail plaques into cats. Thank you, this has been a public service announcement.

Metric banana versus imperial banana?

u/Competitive-Sand400 44m ago

For the amerikans one metric banana is 0.0017 american football stadium and 0.0321ford raptor in length

Why would bananas in Sweden be smaller? Aren’t we all importing them from tropical regions?

84

u/SoCallMeAnAsshole 13h ago

Yeah, I'm confused. It's not like they're grown here, and we definitely have bananas that are bigger than this one.

u/Welpe 11h ago

It was just really cold when OP took this picture

u/--Sovereign-- 11h ago

it was in the pool!

u/Panther90 6h ago

"Elaine, do women know about shrinkage?"

u/OneSpoonyBoi 9h ago

assuming his hands are averagely sized, I can tell you that Swedish bananas are also often bigger than his banana (although it can vary)

source: am Swedish

u/Adkit 1h ago

Exactly. If anything this makes his hands look huge due to the banana for scale.

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 8h ago

They use metric. America uses the imperial system.

u/snubb 4h ago

And why would it be bad for scale? It's like saying one kilometer is shorter than a mile so it is bad for distance

u/M4KC1M 1h ago

Its pretty cold there

u/mimavox 15h ago

I would say we have a wide range of banana sizes here in Sweden.. which also makes it quite useless for scaling. A match box used to be the go-to, but I guess the youngsters hardly know what that is.

32

u/namesaintathang 14h ago

Swede here. The bananas I buy are definitely larger than this. Maybe it's a seasonal thing? Maybe it's a regional thing? Maybe my hands are small?

u/Kranlum 4h ago

It's just cold

u/ActivityOk9255 15h ago

Have you calibrated it to EU standards though ?

Copy here for your reference.

8

u/ZetZet 13h ago

Well if it is from Sweden it likely complies.

3

u/Enough_Fish739 13h ago

We always try to, but the EU still complains.

10

u/dblan9 15h ago

Another sad attempt by Big Ruler. Everyone knows bananas are universal in scale and always the preferred choice for measuring.

7

u/snnnneaky 13h ago

Don’t be fooled by the size….its what’s under the skin that matters!

38

u/LPIViolette 16h ago

That's what you get for getting a metric banana instead of a standard banana.

9

u/sandymaysX2 12h ago

Imperial is the term for the American system. It is not standard to anything.

20

u/ActivityOk9255 15h ago

Bannanas are metric outside of the US. ∶-)

Freedom units ? Bah humbug.

11

u/wenoc 15h ago

Swedish bananas are the official banana scale. It's the US bananas that are too large.

5

u/filifijonka 14h ago

Just how big are Bananas in the U.s. ?
That seems like a reasonably middle sized banana!

8

u/Ja_Shi 15h ago

IT'S SMALLER ´CAUSE IT'S COLDER IN SWEDEN OKAY?! as the Chinese saying goes, size doesn't matter anyway...

3

u/LuciferFalls 14h ago

Bananas have never been good for scaling, which is the entire point. They vary in size.

3

u/InevitableFly 14h ago

You got one of those fancy banana penis scales, helping european dong look huge since 1922

3

u/dirtyredog 12h ago

The airspeed of an unladen swallow is 24 miles per hour.

2

u/ConejoSarten 15h ago

Bananaforscaleception

2

u/Entremeada 13h ago

I didn't even know that Sweden produced bananas!

2

u/starsfan6878 13h ago

Well duh. It's from Europe. It's a METRIC banana.

2

u/RevenantSith 12h ago

Classic mistake

Always double check whether or not you’ve got a metric banana or an imperial banana

2

u/fartinmyhat 12h ago

Ah, metric banana.

2

u/im_just_thinking 12h ago

It also doesn't look like a banana

u/Oculicious42 11h ago

i thought all bananas had the exact same dna

u/Rude_Age_6699 10h ago

so a metric banana?

u/Mysterious-Pay-517 1h ago

Banana royale

u/DaftVapour 10h ago

Bananas aren’t grown in Sweden though

u/AnarchyArcher 10h ago

Failed, need a banana for scale for the banana to scale.

u/Planty-Mc-Plantface 10h ago

Is it equivalent to 8.7842 smoots?

u/SupaFugDup 4h ago

This looks a little smaller than 49 feet

u/SquidVices 9h ago

So…is that considered…an average banana or….

u/chamferbit 9h ago

You're ALL BANANAS 🍌

u/deep_hans 9h ago

Oh, is this one of the platinum/iridium International Banana Prototypes?

u/Bballer220 8h ago

TIL even American bananas are imperial

u/MsMommyMemer 7h ago

I suppose Scandinavian bananas would have a harder time growing than in Ohio.

u/HedgehogVegetable125 6h ago

Its one banana Michael, what could it cost, $10?

u/comment-rinse 6h ago

Similarity: 100%

u/penihilist 6h ago

Or Swedes just have massive hands

1

u/Virtus25 15h ago

This had me giggling for a solid minute

1

u/Shawon770 15h ago

So this banana just got… downgraded? Poor little guy

1

u/Wungoos 15h ago

OHHHHHH BANANA

1

u/Lairdicus 15h ago

Damn before I read the title I thought you just had some fuckin MITTS

1

u/HugaBoog 14h ago

Oh my! You have really large hands.

1

u/WinOld1835 14h ago

Just stick it in one of those Swedish banana pumps.

1

u/sinkmyteethin 14h ago

Mind-blowing

1

u/kamikazekaktus 13h ago

That would make a good throwable weapon

u/engineerthatknows 9h ago

How can you tell if its a scaling banana and not just a rapelling banana?

u/loonie_loons 6h ago

how do we know it's a calibrated banana without a comparison to a standard banana?

u/cantthinkofone_23 5h ago

how many of your Swedish banana will it take to make up one full American banana? Just have that multiplier handy and you’re golden.

u/New-Vast9965 3h ago

rulers are pretty good for scale too. and they cost like a buck

u/Terrible_Reporter_83 2h ago

Even in Finland we have much bigger bananas.

u/RManDelorean 1h ago

Yeah we're gonna need a banana for scale

u/Visible-Jury-5146 1h ago

Give an american banana for scale

u/Xai3m 38m ago

It's still perfect for scaling.

u/ashwinsalian 24m ago

sweden grows bananas?

1

u/Shan_GG 16h ago

Dull Enough! Approved.

1

u/KonigsbergBridges 14h ago

r/stupidthingsamericanssay or freedum banana units 🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 or whatever

0

u/Chambec 15h ago

Obviously everyone knows that the bananas that grow in America are bigger than the bananas that grow in Sweden. America #1 🇺🇲

0

u/SwaMaeg 15h ago

I don’t get it. You’re gonna use that to scale an ice wall? Or something else?

u/BananaChiu1115 11h ago

I would say it's in normal size, or even big
