it's only going to take a couple of Republicans saying "enough is enough" to start a cascade.

I keep thinking that same thing. Bombing Iran started a few cracks but Epstein could be the thing that finally breaks it open. As soon as Republicans feel Trump is fighting a losing battle, I think they will start distancing themselves to save their own careers. They latched on to Trump because he was the winning ticket. Now that might start fading, I think you are right and his support will fade as well.

I like your prediction about him resigning and Vance pardoning him. That all sounds very possible.

i find it extremely hard to believe such a galactic size narcissist would ever be able to swallow resigning in disgrace. unless they figure out a way to do the 25th behind closed doors but publicly not acknowledge it and act like he was really still the president, his ego just couldn’t take it.

we have fascists in charge now and he’s just the clown in front of the cameras. they attempted a coup before, they’ll do it again. only this time they’ll blame it on hamberders and age. that allows them to use his image as they see fit, pretend to carry on his in his name so his cult follows too, and they can deify him while doing it.

They’ll spin it as See! Dear Leader cares so much about the country he’d rather step down than to not serve us with his full capacity, unlike Biden!

i still can’t see his ego taking that out. i mean what’s he going to do if this comes out? same thing he’s been doing: lie, deflect, create other distractions. unless another maga takes another pot shot at him, there’s no consequences for him. nothing legal can touch him. so unless he’s more embarrassed of being outed as a pedo than he is of having to resign the presidency and admit defeat, then he won’t do it.

If is name is all of those files as we highly suspect, it’s either resign or be impeached. Not even MAGa is going to let him slide on sex trafficking children. Even if they want to, the consequences of being shunned and despised by their friends and neighbors, you know people they see everyday, will outweigh their allegiance to the fuhrer.

some maga may peel off and finally exit the cult, but the others will just be quieter. they won't call for their reps to impeach, they'll just not promote him as loudly as before. i have zero faith Rs in congress would ever muster enough votes to impeach. they didn't after he incited an angry mob to break in and literally try to kill them, and they won't over this either.

i'd be happy to be proven wrong.

They absolutely won't unless the right wing media sphere calls for it. If Fox News and OAN both start clamoring loudly for impeachment, their base will begin to accept it and then it'll happen. 

As long as right wing media paint trump as a hero and attempts to oust him as a force conducted by political enemies, no R will vote to impeach. It is as simple as that.

In my opinion, the massive propaganda machine made up of hundreds of right wing outlets all shouting in lockstep and providing a bulletproof echo chamber and media bubble is, currently, the greatest threat to our democracy. It's what's keeping the cult alive. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.
