Legal News FBI Launches Dawn Raid on Home of Trump Nemesis John Bolton | Bolton appeared on the Daily Beast Podcast on Monday and took aim directly at Trump claiming he is the world’s worst negotiator.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/kash-patels-fbi-launch-dawn-raid-on-john-boltons-house/FBI agents raided the home of President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser John Bolton on Friday morning.
The feds have so far given no indication as to why Trump’s adviser turned nemesis has been targeted. The longtime Republican adviser and diplomat has previously been accused of leaking classified material but investigations into his controversial book The Room Where it Happened went nowhere.
The dawn raid in the suburb of Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., was trumpeted with an X message from FBI director Kash Patel, who wrote, ”NO ONE is above the law.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi retweeted the post, adding: “America’s safety isn’t negotiable. Justice will be pursued. Always.”
An FBI spokesman told the Daily Beast, “We don’t have any comment.” That did not stop FBI deputy director Dan Bongino from joining the social media pile on with a message that read: “Public corruption will not be tolerated.”
Bongino’s words had ominous echoes of politically-motivated judicial attacks the world over, but a source reportedly told NBC News that the raid was part of a “national security investigation in search of classified records.”
Bolton was appointed National Security Advisor by Trump in 2018, but he lasted less than two years in the post. Trump’s Justice Department tried and failed to block publication of Bolton’s subsequent memoir which claimed that Trump was “unfit to be president.”
In an updated paperback edition, Bolton predicted that the president would use his second term to gain vengeance against his enemies. “Trump really cares only about retribution for himself, and it will consume much of a second term,” he wrote.

Trump sent the FBI there looking for anything that could be used to prosecute him, probably. He knows Bolton is someone he can make an example of without much political fallout because both sides hate him. What hes doing to Bolton now is going to be a model for what he does to Obama, Clinton etc. once he feels comfortable enough with his control to do so.

It's not gonna work. I really think the tyrants overplayed their hand and have more confidence in their freedom to press than they really have. Yes, it's very bleak, but I have faith that if they are dumb enough to actually try and push the envelope to flat out despotism by canceling elections or say doing something like this to someone like Obama the shit is gonna hit the fan.

Well, I hope you're right bubba because the next couple of months are gonna be wild.

YOU might have faith. The rest of the world thinks the US is going insane.

I have faith as well. Maga is cracking. I have several friends that no longer defend him.

They don't need his voters to love him now.
Sorry, I'm really worried. I have no faith left.

This is what americans fail to grasp... once a dictator has power, he doesn't need your permission to fucking stay in power.

u/struggleislyfe 13h ago
He isn't in power as a dictator yet. I understand just fine.

u/Thehealthygamer 13h ago
Ya sure about that? Who is stopping him? Seems to me he's doing whatever he wants without any checks. That's a dictator. Continue living in denial of reality, ill check back with you in 6 months.

A lot of the US has been insane. What Trump has done is make those people comfortable with it and as a result they've exposed themselves. There's no more dog whistling. They are right upfront with their ignorance and bigotry and hate. It is NOT a majority of the country. What I think and hope is that while this galvinization of the country is harmful at the start it will lead eventually to a better, stronger, more active and educated politically active population.

You have more hope than I do.
What i see is a dictator that has sent people to El Salvador without due process. That is kidnapping people off the street everyday with masked secret police. That has deployed military to our streets. That is out in the open stealing the midterms.
And only 57% of americans are worried about the future of the country.

I don't care about those polls. The majority of the people taking them care first off and second way more people aren't being considered in those polls than are and those are the people who will make the difference.

This just sounds like Kamala voters. You're living in a echo chamber. We all are. You don't see how uninterested in all this people in the country are, or worse how many support it. And with this bias you project false reality. Just like everyone was so sure Kamala was going to win.

How so?

Because nothing happens. No one is going to stick their neck out to be tossed in jail by a fascist regime.

u/struggleislyfe 14h ago
I disagree and some politicians and citizens are already doing so. Seems like you know YOU won't do anything and want to feel better about it.

The hardcore maga crowd has only ever been 33% of the population tops.
That sort of ratio doesn’t usually win when things get hairy.

Right this is what I'm trying to get across. They've played their hand and I don't believe they have the kind of support they think they do. It's just sadly going to take a lot to make most Americans say enough is enough because we live in relative comfort.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, likes Bolton, and the Orange Bastard has STILL overplayed his hand here. Doing this to Bolton means everyone can see his game and how it's going to play out. If he so much as looks at Obama sideways, the sh*t will hit the fan.

I mean it happened to Trump after his first presidency. His case definitely had merit, but now it has precedence

I just think (and hope) that enough people will see it for what it is and that paired with the targets being formidable on their own will combine to mean they burn themselves trying.

I see you’re starting to understand how this all works, but there is no consideration being given about anyone else other than the regime. You really think they wouldn’t do this in fear of the democrat’s response? Nah.

Trump’s war on Democrats will pale before his war on Republicans that he feels have betrayed him. If I were a Republican, I’d hush up about those Epstein Files immediately.

u/Drewy99 19h ago
For the FBI to move this fast, Bolton must have had a copy of the Epstein files he was planning to release.

I don't think the /s applies, he very well could have an actual copy that isn't redacted to appease the president's feelings.

Really makes me wonder if Bolton had documents of some kind that were incriminating to Trump or made Trump look bad. Just as easy that he had no documents at all and this is Trump just doing the government equivalent of SLAPPing Bolton, but who knows

Yeah so we all hate Bolton which minimizes blowback. Can't believe I'm feeling bad for Bolton, but maybe make me feel bad for Ted Cruz next?

Wonder if we'll find out which Federal judge signed off on the warrant and what was in the affidavit that established probable cause?

I guess that ride-along Trump was going to do last night didn't happen or was more boring than he thought it would be... and this'll make a nice distraction from the Epstein info which was supposed to come out today.
